I am looking to find a book or website that I can teach my daughter

about vitamins and minerals and what each does for the body and which

foods are best for consuming. Any ideas?? Also a website that would

list chemicals and substances in todays food that are harmful...

Blessings,

Kendra

Kendra,If you get a copy of, "A Consumer's Dictionary of Food Additives", by Winter you can look up the additives in foods and see what they are and how harmful the are. You'll see things like the propylene glycol (antifreeze) in ice cream.

I really like the book Nutrition Almanac by Lavon J. Dunne. I don't necessarily agree with every nutritional recommendation, but it has charts and tables of what things are for and what foods have what. You can look up almost any "normal" whole food. Also, it does have some nutritional suggestions for some ailments- some might not be the best, but there is lots of good information anyway.
