Guest guest
Clothing - Natural Fibers & Loose Fitting Clothing touches large areas of the skin. The fabric used to make the clothes can affect the skin in either a positive or negative way. The skin is the largest organ of the body. It is well known that it can sweat out toxins and other bodily wastes. Few people understand that the skin reacts to fabric, laundry soaps and will absorb anything you put on it. Yes the residual oils in a Polyester fabric, body lotion and shampoo go into the blood stream. Silk is one of the best materials as it comes from a live substance spun by the silk worm; however, in most cases it is not practical for babies and children. 100% Organic Cotton is becoming more and more available and is an excellent choice for babies and children as well as adults. Other all-natural fabrics such as 100% Linen, Cotton, and Hemp are also great alternative fibers to wear. Sheep / Lama and Camel wool are excellent for sweaters and coats as they do not come in direct contact with the skin when you wear them over other clothes. What about synthetic (man made) / chemical cloth? These are created from petroleum or coal sources. In this group we find Nylon, Spandex, Rayon and Polyesters. The chemicals in these fabrics can be highly toxic. The toxins can irritate the nose and lungs and prevent the skin from breathing properly. Many unexplained rashes, itches and diseases can be attributed to the wearing of these man-made materials. Synthetics used in the clothing industry contribute to ill health. Speaking of chemicals, be sure to wash all new clothing, sheets, towel etc. before wearing or using them. Chemical starches and cloth protectors are sprayed on and used in the manufacturing process. Again, these chemicals are not healthy. Loose fitting clothes made from all-natural fibers are vital to health and the best to put against skin. Loose fitting is important because even the slightest pressure on the skin can stop the Lymph flow in the body. The Lymph system carries away wastes. Tight clothes and waist bands stop the flow of the Lymph system and can cause congestion, lumps and blood clots. As blood clots move through the body, if they hit the Heart they may clog it and cause a Heart attack. If clots form and travel through the blood stream, they could hit the Heart, the Brain or the Lungs and cause death. Buy and make sure that you and your children are wearing loose fitting clothes made of natural fibers. Your healthy baby and children will LOVE you for it. Here’s to a long, disease free life ! Questions welcome ! Valorie P.S. There have been studies done that point to the fact that bras worn by women (especially when tight) contribute to breast cancer.
