China looking to the US is an honour and after a conversation I had this last

week scares the hell out of me.  I share office space with a D.O.  Wonderful

man, very Holistic and open to TCM.

Last week he introduced me to a Chiropractor friend of his that did

acupuncture.  I got all excited and started talking with her about TCM theory

and diagnosis and how she applied it in her practice and what kind of results

she is getting.

Well the more I talked the bigger her eyes got and it was obvious she had no

clue what I was talking about.  She finally admitted that she " needled reflex

points " and did not do " real acupressure " .  However when I drove by her office

on Fri. her sign still read Acupuncture.

There is going to need to be a way of separating real TCM practitioners of any

level from Westernized practices like trigger point and " needling reflex points "

so the public can be aware there is a difference.

What most Chiropractors do should be called something like " Chiro-puncture "

and what most MDs/DOs do should be called something like

" Medi-puncture " ......anything but acupuncture.
