Look through the TCM archives to find past e-mails and pictures uploaded on

BaGuaFa.

To simplify.......you can use GuaSha to break down the excess fascial

tension in the plantar fascia and also over the fascia just above the heel in

the

achilles tendon.

Hi,

Plantar fasciitis is a fascinating symptom.... :)

I find that the most typical pattern is Kid Yang deficiency with Cold in

the Bladder channel resulting in the cramping intense local pain at the

heel. Most often it comes with some kind of low back disorder.

If Kid Yang def with cold is the main imbalance causing the plantar

fasciitis then check for tenderness at both Bl 52s. You are likely to

find right Bl52 (MingMen) to be most tender/uncomfortabel for the

patient which call for treatment of Bl13, 42, 23, 52 on more

asymptomatic side - preferrably involving moxa treatment - 5-7 cones

usually is enough to releive the uncomfortable feeling/tenderness either

Bl52.

Kid 7 shoould be needled - especially of the Kid sinew channel is tense

and hard - a sure sign og Kid Yang w. Cold.

Palpate for hardness of the muscles/fascies/tendon as well as tender

points on the affected limb and do retained neeling for 20 or so minutes

to relieve tender points and the tense of the posterior thigh and calf

muscle- no De Qi since it will drain Yang - not desirable. Of course

moxa treatment will be applicable.

Releiving the tender points and the tension on the lower back, posterior

thigh and calf will cause Qi to flow, warm the Bl channel and it should

produce at least some releif after the first treatment.

If you have plenty of time with your patient check abdomen for tension

around Ren4 - 6, on left and right St25-30. after treatment check again

- if tension has been releived then good if not then needle Ren4, Lu1

until tenseness clear.

Herbs is not necessary..... Symptoms should have cleared by 5-6th

treatment if patient is of average health and Shen is good - probably

digestive porblems will clear as well - they will there whether the

patient testifies to them or not.

Hope this helps...

Kindly,

Thomas

hi,

Result is excellent .

either use calf tender point needling , or auricular acupuncture of heel and

shenman +_ sub cortex follwed with press needles.if you are correct with the

diagnosis you will be surprised with the results .

still there are many other ways to treat .but these are the most basic and

successful .do not keep the body needles for more the few min.(3-5) once a week.

regards.

I have used this treatment with almost uniformly excellent results for a

few years. The needling can be briefly painful, but they'll come back

because it works so well and has been durable:
