Guest guest Posted June 14, 2008 Report Share Posted June 14, 2008 Consider the relationship between jing (undifferentiated potential) , jing (lines of transmission, " classic " , wires, nerves), Jing (the eyeball) Then notice that jing for eyeball has the same phonetic as jing for undifferentiate potential. Consider the name of Bl-1 Jing ming ( " Eyes Bright " ) Then consider that the original name of this point was Ming Men (Destiny Gate). so the fires of ming men (gate of destiny) burn brightly and that spirit travels through the nerves (Shen jing: spirit wires) and the Meridians (jinglou) to arrive at the outer gate of destiny (Bl-1) and we see fire/spirit) in the eyes evidencing that the potential of jing (the carrier of shen) has manifested as enlightenment (ming: clarity). If a person is asleep (ming) they are living in hell (ming) deluded by the sense of a separate self (ming). When vision is turned back inward and one meditates (ming) then Destiny (ming) is realized and one transcends NAME (ming) and gains open awareness (ming) and the eyes (jing) reflect the awakening (ming) to one's potential (ming).
