There is a group in Israel who did a study at a hospital here using Chinese

Herbal medicine to treat ADD and ADHD children. They published their results in

Hebrew. I can check if it is also in English if interested.

There is a chapter on it in " Chinese Medical Psychiatry " by Bob Flaws

and James Lake MD. There is also a chapter on it in Acupuncture in

the treatment of Children by Scott and Barlow. Also, a good

reference to have is the CD of Journal of from 1979

to present. You can purchase it online. www.jcm. co.uk It comes

from overseas but It doesnt take long to receive. You can go to many

of the journal sites and search their database to purchase articles

online. Also if you go to Bluepoppy .com and click on their

TCMinfoline you can find three article if you put the search term

ADHD.

hope that helps some.

Hi Steve,

I went to a NADA conference 2 years ago, and they talked about studies in which

the NADA protocol was found to be effective in treating (calming) ADD/ADHD. I

don't know whether they have any published materials on this, but it's worth

checking out.

Here's their web address:

That is a wonderful book!

The supplement I am working with (the non profit one) is amazing for ADD and

ADHD if the person has not been on any medication before.

If they have been on medication before it gets more complicated but it is

still effective.

Combined with acupuncture and you've got a home run!

You can add it to your practice armamentarium. Again not selling you

anything, learning how to use the product is free.

Just don't want to see children put on medication.

Oh wait that is my other Chinese medicine list.

I am working on a research study. There are two supplements, one helps

people get off ssri's pain free- it consists of amino acids. The other is a

vitamin and mineral supplement and it treats mood disorders and has had

success with ADD ADHD. It comes in a powdered form which makes it easy for

children.

This is not a business, I don't make a penny off of these supplements.

There is a huge double blind study coming out soon, there are other studies

out already. The supplement company is a non-profit one

Like I said I don't make a penny. My background is that I am a psychiatrist

who is in school learning TCM and my goal is getting people off psych meds

because they often don't work or stop working.

If you want more information you can email me directly at net

and I can send you the science /information.

Again I am not trying to sell you anything!!
