Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone on the group have experience in treating Meniére´s? If so what are your stats for partial/full relief of the problem and how many treatments in average. Thank you for your time! Have a great day Thomas -- Althea Akupunktur " Dit liv... Dit potentiale! Guest guest
Hi Thomas & all, First of all, may be you have noticed the name of the disease is not clear. I guess it is Meniere's syndrome. In Chinese internal medicine, it is under the category of dizziness. I am sure many listed members have experiences treating this kind of disease. If you have listed all the signs of the patient according to Chinese medicine diagnosis, it would be much easier to give you feedback. It is because Meniere is only one of the patterns found in dizziness and its pathomechanism can be blood stasis, phlegm, damp-heat, liver deficiency, etc. Once the dignaosis is clear, treatment method will come out easily. The most common pathomechanism is yin deficiency yang hyperactivity (among others). Herbal treatment is more convenient and effective than acupuncture to treat this disease. If the diagnosis is correct, not a chronic case, and no organic damage, one dosage should relieve the sign, and 3 to 6 dosages will solve the problem. A sample case Dizziness? (WM) Meniere syn /disease Pattern: yin deficiency yang hyperactivity Signs: dizziness, vomiting, ringing ear (do not use pressure in the ear, vertigo) Pulse: ? Tongue: ? Treatment methods: yin-nourishing,yang-subduing, wind-extinguishing, Formula: ban xia (pinellia), fu ling (poria), chen pi (tangerine peel), ze xie (alisma), gou teng (uncaria), bai zhu (ovate atractylodes), etc for modifications. Hope that helps. Guest guest
Hi Yuk-ming, Thank you for your reply. However in this case I am looking for statistics specifically on the BioMed diagnosis of Meniére disease/syndrome as treated with acupuncture. Needless to say that in order to treat Meniére's or anything else properly one needs to differentiate......
