Guest guest
I had the same problem a few yrs ago. I used Tea Tree oil. I put a drop in a small glass of water and would swish my toothbrush in it before and after I brushed my teeth and I also use a drop in a small glass of water to rinse my mouth several times a day, and if memory serves me it only took a few days and it was gone. tea tree taste pretty bad but did it and it worked. good luck Rita Christa Maria <cmaria wrote: Anyone having a simple home remedy for thrush in the mouth? Guest guest
Don't take this wrong, but a vet I have heard of recommends mixing Mylanta and Maalox and dabbing it on with a q tip. Guest guest
I have a pt who has very bad thrush, thick, white and very itchy. I have tried the empirical points (SP6, SP 9, REN 2, LIV 5, LIV 8,KI 11) but nothing seems to work for her. I do not practice herbs, but wonder if anyone has a treatment that works to eliminate the problem.
Guest guest
acupuncture on GB20, LI11, LI4, LV3, SP10, etc, etc...... may help with the itchiness and discomfort temporarily. But in my experience needles alone is unlikely to help the thrush heal without the support of supplements, herbs, dietary changes, etc... gargling with liquid acidophilus works very well. (also i've heard favorable results gargling with diluted tea tree oil from some colleagues and classmates). in general dietary changes are key to minimize candida overgrowth (especially no sugar). patient should be taking probiotics and cleaning up diet. also in my experience, patients on oral contraceptive pills or artificial hormones tend to be more susceptible to thrush... perhaps due to artificial hormones disrupting the delicate intestinal bacteria balance. hope this helps. i recommend doing a quick google search on these keywords for more ideas/details... good luck! ~edith -- Edith Chan, L.Ac. Guest guest
I agree, needles alone aren't going to do it for thrush. Yeast is stubborn. I have treated a mom & newborn with thrush (baby gave it to the mom through nursing; so mom had it in the milk ducts). I treated them with probiotics and gentian violet (small amount dabbed on nipples which baby sucked off), and elimination of sugar & processed food for at least 2 weeks following absence of symptoms. Mom also swabbed nipples with vinegar after nursings. Fiamma Sita Aaron, M.S., C.A., Dipl. O.M.
