new disease due to GMO foods???!!! i don't normally do this, but i was so

shocked by this

article that i thought i would post it for everyone's benefit. the video is

really interesting

also. according to the article, people have been growing some kind of plastic

fibers out of

their skin. has anyone ever heard of this or had a patient with these sort of

symptoms?

Just a quick reply... The disease they are referring to is Morgellons's

disease and it was first reported in France a few centuries ago.

Agrobacterium (the bacteria that seems to cause the disease) has always been

found " in the wild " . It's the one that causes crown gall diseases on trees

(ever saw those trees in forests with a hug " bump " on their trunks or

branches?).

http://www.i-sis.org.uk/agrobacteriumAndMorgellons.php

has some less " sensationalisitc " information.

Artemis,

Thank you! Between you and me, I'm glad there's at least one other biologist on

this list. In recent years I've taken the position that I absolutely will not

take questions from students or fellow list members who cite Dr. Mercola and

information from similar lists. We have Pub Med and Pub Med Central (fully open

access) now in the 21st Century. I hope a fair percentage of any list can step

up to the integrity of both Western and Oriental sciences.

Regarding the autoimmune madness, we all have cellular inclusions bodies from

our entertaining Western diets preserved with tonnage of nitrites and the wide

world of preservatives. Consider the " normal " childhood of Cocoa Puffs,

MacDonald's milkshakes, the infinite variety of snack foods, processed meats and

super sized Cokes. That and the self-enforced immobility of TV and computers.

No sky and lots of intracellular inclusion bodies by way of preservatives. I'll

be waiting for the Pub Med Central review papers in support of the Western

science, or someone's conspiracy theory. But I'll pass on Mercola.

Respectfully and gratefully,

Emmanuel Segmen

I didn't realize there was a stigma regarding Dr. Mercola's site. Details?

I didn't know either, it is one of the most received and read. His commentary is

just that commentary, but he lists may papers and has citations that have even

more papers that i went and tracked down from the

venues of Pub Med and Medline and others. His information about 80% of the

research going the way of the group that financed the research was important to

understand as is Dr. Deepok Chopra's definition of teliology. Predetermining the

outcome of research to suit the manufacturing companies, well, science ghost

writers as I have run into Medical Science writers that push propaganda for the

Marketers that pay for the advertising in professional associaiton publications,

I am thankful to Dr. Mercola for helping to define the open boundaries of

" misinformation " and " bad science " , it is everywhere.Sincerely,Patricia Jordan

Hello,

One of my issues with Dr Mercola is that he quotes only papers that supposrt

his point of view. As a scientist I liek to hear evidence from both

sides... then make up my own mind.
