Guest guest
Hi, Can anyone please share the correct diagnostic code for Pain? I have been using 780.99, but just had Aetna insurance deny a patient's claim because they said the code was incorrect. While they agreed they would cover the treatment if it was for pain, and they understood I was treating the patient for pain, they would not tell me what code I should use for pain. FUN!If anyone can share, or point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thank you! Jessica Fritz L.Ac.
Guest guest
Jessica, The current code for " Generalized Pain " is 780.96. There are, of course, more precise codes that identify pain based upon its region, nature, and etiology. --Bill. -- Bill Mosca, LAc Executive Director California State Oriental Medical Association (CSOMA) 703 Market Street, Suite 250 San Francisco • CA • 94103-2100 [Toll Free Voice]: (800) 477-4564 • [Fax]: (415) 357-1940 : bill • [Website]: csomaonline.org On Apr 18, 2008, at 12:55 PM, pitgyrl wrote: > Hi, > Can anyone please share the correct diagnostic code for Pain?
