Guest guest Posted April 16, 2008 Report Share Posted April 16, 2008 Hi all, does anybody have more detailed information than the following on Lu Fan? 绿矾 Melanteritum (Rubrum) / Green Vitriol / Iron (II) Sulphate Lu Fan, Qing Fan, Jiang Fan, Zhao Fan Actions: Expels toxins; Dries Dampness; Expels worms and other parasites; Tonifies Blood I am intending to use it for a strong case of blood deficiency, but can't find much info on it. Have not checked with my local suppliers yet. Any info appreciated! Actions & Indications: Rid of toxins and dampness: being used externally on boils, skin ulcers, skin fungal infection . As tonic and rid of parasites: being used in edema due to deficiency; parasites and pain in the abdomen. Internal use: 0.8 to 1.6 g, each time. Bake and make into pill or powder form. For anemia caused by kidney failure: zao fan 200 g, da zao (pitted) 500 g, wheat flour (stir fry) 400 g, cloves 10 g, honey 200 g. Mix well and make into pills about the sizes of peas. Take 10 to 15 pills each time, twice a day. (source: Chronic Nephritis Prevention and Treatment, Chinese and Western Methods) *** Sometimes taken internally may cause vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness. Not to use by those with bleeding ulcer within the past 3 month. Not to be taken by pregnant women. While taking this herb, do not use tea. Large dosage can cause death. Anyone use this one?
