Guest guest
Hello, I would love some input on approaches to treating fluid around joints. My patient has a very complex health history: some of it involves: lupus graves disease recent thyroid removal very high blood pressure She is on many different medications, The fluid started on her right elbow 3 weeks ago. She saw an orthopedic doc who drained it, shot it with cortisone and sent her on her way. within a week the fluid has started to return. she received one more shot of cortisone, but does not want it drained again, as it obviously did not help. Her shoulder just started hurting and she fears there is beg of fluid build up there. Elbow is very painful, feels better with warmth. I do a lot of moxa on this patient as she is cold and has poor circulation. I plan to treat the elbow using moxa and with " cold bi syndrome " in mind and do some tui- na. I have never treated this and would love some advice from those of you with more experience in this realm. Any experience with external plasters for this condition? Thank you in advance, Bess Donley Mendocino Family Acupuncture
