Hello all,

A new patient has come to me, a young man (28) with erectile

dysfunction due, his doctors say, to venous leakage. He has some high

blood pressure also, hereditary; he says he would not have noticed

except a routine doctors visit revealed it.He has signs of damp heat

(red tongue, thick yellow coat; pulse is not too fast (about 85) but he

is a serious athelete,it is fairly rolling and pushy in all positions.

I am wondering if anyone has any experience or good questions about

this condition. The venous leakage seems to imply spleen involvement,

as it is about leakage of blood during an erection. Im wondering if Sp

1 used as it is

with excess menstrual bleeding might be useful, along with points like

Sp 9, Sp 10 CV 9, and probably some LV points, also LI11. (I am a very

new beginner, please excure my huge unknowing!) This is the direction I

intend to take, but Id really like any wisdom you can pass on!

Thank you very much.

Hi Douglas,

Some if not all antihypertensive drugs can cause sexual dysfunction.

Check on this lead.

This does not change the fact that in order to be effective using TCM one must

use the methods of diagnosis of TCM. Western alopathic medicines do indeed cause

problems, but these problems, nonetheless, manifest themselves in the pattern of

disharmony viewed when we observe our patient. Trying to treat a patient using

using the Western ideas of what the herbs due dooms one to

failure.
