A. * *A long term apprentice of Miriam Lee and student of Young Wei-chieh* This two day's course explores the foundation of by discussing the classics from the *Neijing* and *Yijing* with special emphasis in relating the Master Tong style. The lecturer's extensive background and experience in the field of traditional Chinese medicine will lend to an in-depth understanding of both the theories and practices of acupuncture. The first day will clarify the classical meridian theory and Master Tong's system including the Tai Yin meridians, San Jiao meridian and how it is related to Tong's Points. The principles of Tong's system will also be discussed. The next day's course will focus on demonstration of diagnosis and treatment as we see patients throughout the day. With each patient, we will discuss each as a case study to allow participants to understand how to approach each disease and its variations. This course will be limited to a group of 15 participants in order to ensure maximum interactive learning. It is also recommended that attendees have some familiarity with Tong's points. *Time:* Apr. 5, 6, 2008. 9AM - 6 PM. Su graduated from National Taiwan University with a Master's degree in philosophy. She learned acupuncture and Chinese medicine from Miriam Lee and was her apprentice from 1978 to 1986. In the '80s, Esther was the continuing education coordinator and translator for the Acupuncture Association of America. There, she studied Master Tong's points with Dr. Young Wei-chieh, a principal lecturer for the AAA during this time. Esther then opened her own clinic in 1986; she has been practicing Chinese acupuncture and medicinal herbs in San Jose for twenty years. Esther has lectured on acupuncture around the Bay Area and in Germany. She has also presented academic papers on subjects ranging from Chinese to Western philosophy, and has published numerous articles concerning Chinese medicine and the comparative philosophies of the East and West.
