Guest guest
It looks like the lungs need to be addressed. They are taiyin, as are the Spleen, which also needs addressing. The dark circles under the eyes can also be blood stasis, and the low libido can be due to LQS. In what you list, i don't see the K Yang xu. Where are the cold signs? Hope it helps Douglas Knapp Doctoral Fellow, L.Ac. Guest guest
Hi,Kath I second Douglas that there are also lung and spleen deficiency, plus your diagnosis, kidney xu. I had experiences treating Raynaud's syndrome before and wrote an ariticle in the acupuncture journal about it. Besides acu, I used herbs. Since your patient suffers from lung, spleen, and kidney deficiency, herbs is necessary and may take at least 3 to 6 months to talk about recovery. Guest guest
i'ld like to see your article on raynaud's, is it available somewhere that i may find it, or could you send a copy. btw: douglas wanted to know about cold signs: cold body temp (reports always feeling cold) and cold feet. i missed that on the initial history, but picked it up on the 2nd tx. kath On Thu, Feb 14, 2008 at 11:11 AM, sxm2649 <sxm2649 wrote: > Hi,Kath > I second Douglas that there are also lung and spleen deficiency, plus > your diagnosis, kidney xu. > > I had experiences treating Raynaud's syndrome before and wrote an > ariticle in the acupuncture journal about it. Guest guest
Hi,Kath, Oh, the article is on Journal of Clincial Acu & Moxi.,China Vol 21,No.9,2005 but sorry I did not mention that it is in Chinese. Clues to kidney xu: 1) According to the pathomechanism theory of TCM, Raynaud's syndrome can be under the category of the disease of blood stagnation (chpt 6, Jin Gui Yao Lue, Synopsis of the Golden Chamber). The patient is characterised by insufficiency of Yang Qi. When we talk about Yang deficiency, we usually refer to the viscera of spleen and kidney. 2) Dark circles under the eyes, libido, (raynaud's since 14, hands.worse for exp to C, A/C) I guess Doug is just not familiarized with Raynaud's patients as u don't see them very often. I think it is a very valuable case and would like to see your progress here. Regards, SUNG, Yuk-ming
Guest guest
thanks yuk-ming, this is helpful. i will keep you posted as to tx progress. her cc is the food allergies, so that will be the main focus of tx, initially, although the yg xu must be addressed. kath On Feb 16, 2008 12:07 AM, sxm2649 <sxm2649 wrote: > Hi,Kath, > Oh, the article is on Journal of Clincial Acu & Moxi.,China Vol > 21,No.9,2005 but sorry I did not mention that it is in Chinese. > > Clues to kidney xu: > 1) According to the pathomechanism theory of TCM, Raynaud's syndrome > can be under the category of the disease of blood stagnation (chpt > 6, Jin Gui Yao Lue, Synopsis of the Golden Chamber).
