Guest guest
Has anyone been following the campaign with regards to which candidates have the most favorable stances towards alternative medicine? I've heard that certain big name candidate, such as hillary clinton, are backed by big pharma, and that their plans would cut out alternative medicine even to the extent of not covering chiropractic, which for the most part is almost entierly accepted by western medicine. I definitely believe in healthcare reform, although I'm not sure that restricting access to alternative care is the way to do it. I did visit the clinton political site, and it appears that she is for opening up choices with regards to generics to keep the cost down, so on the surface it would seem that this would be contra- big pharma. what's the word in the acu/alternative/naturopath community? Guest guest
shamanist1 <shamanist1 I definitely believe in healthcare reform, Health care reform or universal health care will cut TCM right out of the pie. The little coverage that is out there will disappear. It is far better to allow the market place to dictate health care. As people continue to demand our services, and the insurance companies see that those who get our services have fewer costly procedures, they will follow the money. Universal health care will bow to special interest who will fight for the public dole. Government CANNOT run health care successfully. The only way to keep them from wasting our money, is to give them less. Douglas Knapp Doctoral Fellow, L.Ac.
