Guest guest
Hi Meredith & All, > I am thinking of making a custom granule formula and adding Wu Wei Zi > to reduce liver enzymes (per Bensky) and adding Zhi Gan Cao and Bai > Shao for pain. Would those with experience of treating people with very elevated LV enzymes care to short-list their top 5 herbs for that? My files list many herbs that are said to protect LV Fxs. They include: Baishao; Baizhu; Banzhilian; Biejia; Chaihu; Chuanxinlian; Chuipencao; Cilaoya; Dahuang; Danggui; Dangyao; Danshen; Dasuan; Dazao / Hongzao; Dongchongxiacao; Ercha; Fuling; Gancao; Gouqizi; Guanyelianqiao; Guizhi (Zhi); Heilaohugen; Heshouwu; Hongjingtian; Huajiao / Chuanjiao; Huangqi; Huzhang; Jianghuang; Jiaogulan; Jinsitao; Jinyinhua; Jisongrong; Jixuecao (Zhixuecao); Kushen; Laoguancao; Lianqiao; Lingzhi; Longdancao; Luhui; Lurong; Meirenjiaogen; Mohanlian; Mugua; Nuzhenzi; Pugongying; Qinghao; Qingyedan; Sanqi / Tianqi; Shaji; Shandougen; Shayuanzi; Shengdi; Shengjiang; Shengma; Shuifeiji; Shuiqing; Tianguadi; Weilingxian; Wenjing; Wuweizi; Wuzhuyu; Xianggu / Xiangxun; Xiaoji (Thistle); Xiecao / Xiecaogen / Jiecao ; Xiheliu / Chengliu; Xiyangshen; Yangjinhua; Yinchenhao; Yunzhi; Zexie; Zhizi / Shanzhizi; Zhuling; Zishiying / Zishi Best regards,
Guest guest
Thank you. So are you saying that adding Wu Wei Zi would be a good idea? I am not sure what you are saying...are you saying I am on the right track....? Or should I be putting many more LV protecting herbs in the formula? Thanks again, Phil. I appreciate the response. I appreciate the response. > Meredith Meredith, because the list of possible LV Protector Hbs is extensive, and because one can choose from many different Classes of Hbs within that list, it should be possible to select 1-3 or more Hbs from that list that not only Aid LV Fxs, but also address OTHER issues relevant to the subject's Total Pattern. As others have written (on other topics), the key issue in selecting the best Hbs for a particular formula is to address Root & Branch in one's Tx. Wuweizi will be useful IF it has one or more OTHER indications relevant to your patient's needs. Indeed, just from its name (We Wei = Five Tastes / Flavours; Zi = Seed / Fruit (as in Gouqizi)), it is appropriate for all of the Fve Zangs.
