I don't think (gui sha di huang tang) is a patent formula like si wu

tang (Four Agents Decoction) and from the medicinals you quote,

there are two formulas have similar structures that may shed some

light. From Jin Gui Yao Lue (Synopsis of the Golden Chamber)by

ZHANG, Zhong-jing

 

1)huang-qi gui-zhi wu wu tang

 

( 2 ) Blood stagnation is marked by dual debilitating of Yin-Yang, a

faint pulse at ¡®Inch¡¯ and ¡®Bar¡¯ positions and a little tight at

¡®Cubit¡¯. Contracting the exterior, patient has generalized

numbness identical to that of wind stagnation. Astragalus, Cinnamon

Twig Five Agents Decoction (huang-qi gui-zhi wu wu tang) governs.

2)gui-zhi jia long-gu mu-li tang

licorice (gao-cao, Glycyrrhizae Radix) 2 liang

jujube (da-zao, Ziziphi Fructs) 12 pieces

dragon bone (long-gu, Mastodi Ossis Fossilia) 3 liang

oyster shell (mu-li, Ostreae Concha) 3 liang

 

Your self-ascribed formula WITHOUT da zao,sheng jiang, and gan cao

but ADD the following medicinals

 

xiang fu, hong hua, e zhu, dang gui (blood-quickening,qi-moving)cold

bai zhu,she chuan zi(supplementation) warm

ban lan gan, xia ku cao (heat-clearing) cold

he shou wu, ma zi ren (for constipation)

 

According to Eight principles of pattern identification, your

formula has dual cold and heat, deficiency and excess complex.

Pathomechanism: liver and kidney Yin deficiency

Diagnosis: Blood stagnation

 

Symptoms include cold in the tip of penis, eye dizziness, and hair

loss,clear-grain diarrhea, blood collapse, spontaneous seminal

emission, generalized numbness.Considered the modifications of your

medicinals, your formula can treat someone with

-generalized numbness(whole body)or pain

-constipation

 

In western medicine term, it has some effect upon neurological pain.

With modifications, it can treat periarthritis of shoulder,

peripheral neuritis, sciatica, post-stroke syndrome, urenines, and

neurosis.

 

However, since no volume of medicinals is provided, the direction of

the treatment is unknown though there are more warm medicinals.

Someone with hypertension should be cautious.
