Guest guest
-I guess (Gui Sha Di Huang Tang) as you state is not a patent formula such as si wu tang (Four Agents Decoction). It is a self- ascribed formula. It has similar structure but incomplete to the following two formulas, both of them from Jin Gui Yao Lue (Synopsis of the Golden Chamber) by ZHANG, Zhong-jing. ·òʧ¾«¼ÒÉÙ¸¹ÏÒ¼±£¬ÒõÍ·º®£¬Ä¿Ñ££¬·¢Â䣬Âö¼«ÐéÜÒ³Ù£¬ÎªÇå¹ÈÍöѪ£¬Ê§¾«¡£ ÂöµÃÖîÜÒ¶¯Î¢½ô£¬ÄÐ×Óʧ¾«£¬Å®×ÓÃν»£¬¹ðÖ¦¼ÓÁú¹ÇĵòÃÌÀÖ÷Ö®¡££¨°Ë£© ( 8 ) A man who has spontaneous seminal emission is marked by a wiry and tense sensation in the lower abdomen, cold in the tip of penis, eye dizziness, and hair loss. An extremely deficient pulse marked by scallion-stalk and slow can be found in patient with clear-grain diarrhea, blood collapse, and spontaneous seminal emission. With scallion-stalk, stirring, faint, and tight pulse, man will have signs of spontaneous seminal emission while the woman has dream of sexual intercourse. Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus Dragon Bone and Oyster Shell (gui zhi jia long gu mu li tang) govens. The formula of Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus Dragon Bone and Oyster Shell (gui-zhi jia long gu mu li tang) ¹ðÖ¦¼ÓÁú¹ÇĵòÃÌÀ·½ cinnamon twig (¹ðÖ¦ gui zhi, Cinnamomi Ramulus) 3 liang white peony (°×ÉÖÒ© bai shao yao, Paeoniae Radix Alba) 3 liang fresh ginger (Éú½ª sheng jiang, Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens)3 liang licorice (¸Ê²Ý gao cao, Glycyrrhizae Radix) 2 liang jujube (´óÔæ da zao, Ziziphi Fructs) 12 pieces dragon bone Áú¹Ç long gu, Mastodi Ossis Fossilia) 3 liang oyster shell (ĵòà mu li, Ostreae Concha) 3 liang Ѫ±ÔÒõÑô¾ã΢, ´ç¿Ú¹ØÉÏ΢£¬³ßÖÐС½ô£¬ÍâÖ¤ÉíÌå²»ÈÊ£¬Èç·ç±Ô×´,»ÆÜιðÖ¦Îå ÎïÌÀÖ÷Ö®¡££¨¶þ£© ( 2 ) Blood stagnation is marked by dual debilitating of Yin-Yang, a faint pulse at ¡®Inch¡¯ and ¡®Bar¡¯ positions and a little tight at ¡®Cubit¡¯. Contracting the exterior, patient has generalized numbness identical to that of wind stagnation. Astragalus, Cinnamon Twig Five Agents Decoction (huang-qi gui-zhi wu wu tang) governs. The formula of Astragalus, Cinnamon Twig Five Agents Decoction (huang qi gui zhi wu wu tang) »ÆÜιðÖ¦ÎåÎïÌÀ·½ astragalus (»ÆÜÎ huang qi, Astragali Radix) 3 liang white peony (°×ÉÖ shao yao, Paeoniae Radix Alba) 3 liang cinnamon twig (¹ðÖ¦ gui zhi, Cinnamomi Ramulus) 6 liang fresh ginger (sheng jiang,Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens)6 liang jujube (´óÔæ da-zao, Ziziphi Fructs) 12 pieces Your formula has no ginger(sheng jiang), jujube (da zao), and licorice (gan cao) but adds xiang fu,dang gui, hong hua, e zhu (blood-quickening and qi-moving medicinals) that is cold in nature. -bai zhu, huang qi,shi di huang (supplementation of spleen and kidney) that are warm in nature (so is dang gui). ban lan gen and xia ku cao(heat-clearing) that is cold. he shou wu and ma xi ren are for constipation The quoted formulas can treat seminal emission, dreaming of sexual intercourse, generalized numbness, generalized pain (full body). With modifications, they can treat periarthritis of shoulder, peripheral neuritis, sciatica, post-stroke syndrome and urenines, night sweat, no ejaculation, hair loss, and neurosis respectively. In western medicine terms, this self-ascribed formula can have some effects on neurological pain (It may work for aged animals since you are a vet). I guess it works best for deficient patient who suffers generalized numbness or pain, with constipation. It also works for enlarged prostate but needs modifications. Remember: i only discuss the medicinals, the actual volume of medicinal may change the direction of the treatment. Last, this formula is for internal use only. I don't think it is for fungi at all. The only one or two medicinals here may use for dermotological purposes like she chuan zi but its direction in this formula is for warming purpose (no external use) Hope that may help. - In Chinese Medicine , " Dr. Jean G.
