Boris,

I learned that children's meridians and qi is not

full developed till they are six years old. Till

then, if it is necessary to tx the children

directly it is best to tx parents also.

I read and heard that too. That their Qi is not fully developed yet i can

understand, but

why shouldnt their meridians be? We are born with everything no? Would be glad

if

someone knew of a source that explains the underdevelopement of meridians in

children.

As for in clinical praxis i saw many kids being diagnosed and treated just like

adults,

points chosen were mainly arm and leg points. As a matter of fact the younges

baby i have

ever seen in the clinic was 5 days old, based on distinguishable pulse patterns

(this even

surprised me!) it was treated succesfully with regular acupoints.

Rebekka,

My understanding is that with increased maturity comes increased

complexity in the channel system. Jing/essence is not fully developed

until puberty, which is why the pulse only has one or two positions to

read until that time. The channels are all 'there', but generally

speaking only the major acupoints are used, such as LI 4 and 11, Sp 6,

St 36, etc.
