How much salary is paid to each fellow and will room and board be provided?

And if NOT....why not?

Hi,

This an excellent opportunity for acupuncturists to enter in to the

mainstream system of health care. I whole heartedly pray for the success of

this

pilot project. I hope if this goes well, there will be many more like this in

future.

I request the acupuncturists in the area to join this pilot project and make

it a success.

If any one has details for this project like how would they incorporate

acupunture therapy with other modalities and how would they evaluate the

improvement with acupuncture? Will there be controls who will not have

acupuncture

treatment? This is the only way to docu, ment the effects of any therapy. Please

provide details if possible on or off the forum so we could plan similar

programs here in Pakistan.

Best regards,

Dr. Shahzad Anwar.

New York Med is behind this.

So why don;t they up the tuition to $9,000 and at the end of the year give a

certificate of completion from NY MED for one year of clinicals?

Funny, when I worked for St. Vincent Medical Center, they paid me.

You got to pay to work there?

I think the 'fellowship' is constructed as an educational opportunity, a way to

get further experience in a hospital setting under the supervision of

experienced practitioners.  I had Ning Ma (who heads the program) as a teacher

at PCOM-NY; he was a great teacher and I think he has formed the nonprofit org

that sponsors this program to help beginning practitioners get experience

working with more challenging patients than the types who tend to walk into the

school clinic.  I think it's a valid option for those who feel they need more

education but don't want to do a doctoral program.

I'm sure others have differing opinions....
