Guest guest
Each state has their very own Veterinary Medical Practice Act under which the practice of veterinary medicine is defined within the scope of veterinary acupuncture. If a non licensed and non certified lay person was to do acupuncture on an animal, they would be breaking the law and practicing veterinary medicine without a license. I am sure that is the same reason they don't allow veterinarians whom have trained and become certified on animals to just hang out a shingle and practice on people.Veterinary Acupuncturists have no less than the four year medical school training and then the program and certification of their beyond professional school training for the acupuncture.Sincerely,Patricia Jordan DVM,CVA,CTCVM & Herbology : sg1532: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 16:22:23 -0500Re: Re: Animal Acupuncture The Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts in Maryland USA has a 6 month intensive Animal Acupuncture Program check out their website _www.tai.edu_ (http://www.tai.edu) Legally (in Maryland) you can only do a veterinary acupuncture program if you are a veterinarian, otherwise you have to the the certified animal acupuncturist program at TAI.Beth GrubbLicensed AcupuncturistCertified Animal Acupuncturist410-591-2644beth********************\ ****************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com[Non-text portions of this message have been removed] _______________ News, entertainment and everything you care about at Live.com. Guest guest
The Vet school at CSU in Greeley has some course work for Vet acupuncture. Be forwarned that in Colorado I believe you can only practice under a Vet if your are not a vet yourself. Guest guest
Since Colorado teaches the medical acupuncture and has a veterinary school, you most likely have to be a licensed veterinarian to perform acupuncture.State Medical Practice Act.Sincerely,Patricia Jordan DVM,CVA,CTCVM & Herbology : comfortpoint: Wed, 14 Nov 2007 20:04:59 -0700Re: Animal Acupuncture The Vet school at CSU in Greeley has some course work for Vet acupuncture.
