Guest guest
Hi all- I've been using 724.20 for Low Back Pain, but suddenly Horizon BCBS of NJ is not accepting it ( " invalid or incomplete " ). Has this code been changed? Anyone have a " better " code? Ugh! Thanks so much! Fiamma

Guest guest
Fiamma: I use 724.20 for Low Back Pain. I am in MD so the overall administration is different. There is another code on my receipt 846.90, which is for low back sprain or strain. I don't have a 724.5. What does that state? Also I heard to use two digits after the . Guest guest
I actually used 724.50 ( " Backache " ) first, which was rejected. Then I tried 724.50 for Low Back Pain. Well, I guess I'll call them and see if they can't give me a real explanation. I wouldn't tend to use a code like 846.90/Back Strain/Sprain, since I believe most insurance covers pain specifically, and the diagnosis of a strain or sprain may not even be something we're suipposedly capable of determining (not 100% sure of this). Thanks- and if anyone knows anything else on the low back pain codes, please post. Fiamma Sita Aaron, M.S., C.A., Dipl. O.M.
