Guest guest
Anyone have experience treating chronic anal fissure? Only thing I know about new 54 year old female patient is that anal fissure is chronic (started about 6 months ago and won't heal), chronic bronchitis and constipation. Appreciate it, Laura
Guest guest
Just a thought- keeping her bowel movements soft should be a priority... one day of straining could undo a lot of healing. Not very holistic... but I'm sure other folks will chime in there! Regards, Henry Chinese Medicine , Laura Cooley <lauramon wrote: > > Anyone have experience treating chronic anal fissure? Guest guest
Hi Laura, I have a patient who came to me after already having had surgery to repair an anal fissure, which developed from chronic inflamed hemorrhoids and diarrhea. She is a young, obese woman and had had this problem for a year before coming to see me. I diagnosed her with damp heat toxin in the lower jiao and gave her an herbal formula called Hemorrease by Kan. The formula eased the bleeding and reduced the frequency of her stools, which reduced local irritation, but after 8 weeks we saw no further improvement. Eventually she saw a new surgeon who told her she hadn't fully healed because she had staples in a place there shouldn't be staples, and these were creating new tears. A second surgery was done about 1 month ago, and I haven't yet seen her again, but she reports she is no longer having bloody stools, her energy is improving, and she believes she is at last on the mend. As for your patient, as with all patients, look at her constitutional factors and pattern discrimination for diagnosis. Moistening the stool might help with the fissure by easing constipation, but at the other end of the metal element, things are also awry with her chronic bronchitis. I believe you will need to address both. Let us know how it goes. Laura Cooley <lauramon wrote: Anyone have experience treating chronic anal fissure? Guest guest
Glucomannon is great for this when taken with each meal (instead of before). It is also inexpensive and as far as I have found there are no side effects. Guest guest
That should be pretty straight forward: constipation usually occurs when the intake of processed foods is very high and when the intake of animal substances is also very high. When food is processed there are little nutrients left, so the bowels have to work slower in order to absorb whatever nutrients are left, this of course makes the stools a lot drier. Meat eating creates a " rotting " digestion, the levels of uric acid rise, furthermore, the lack of water in animal consuption along with the lack of dietary fiber creates a " clot " making it harder and harder to defecate. Dairy products, specially cheese, are a MAIN ingredient for constipation, apart from lactose, which is not digested very well by all human beings, has another substance called casein, well google casein and you will find that is used to make glues, plastic knife handles, buttons, paints, so it is basically something that hardens. Why the chronoc bronchitis? well, appart from being part of the same element -metal-, when the body is constipated, toxins are being introduced to the body. These toxins are mayor contributors from the acidificcation of the body -giving cancer cells a very nice place to live in- to all kinds of " minor " problems and symptoms, such as allergies, bronchitis, headaches, lack of sexual desire, annoyance, and so and so on. This in turns makes the person irritable and sad, to say the least, wich also will make an effect on the origans. Solution: eliminate all meats, whatever their color, cheese and dairy must also be eliminated. White rice, white flour, processed cereals such as breakfast cereals whatever their brand. If it is processed it is bad, Simple. No oils or fats, good-bye modern food -the least you want is to give more heat sources to and overheated metal. Her lips should be dry as well... What to eat? Easy: everything that has not been processed: fresh fruits and vegetables. The person should eat all the parts of the plant: root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit and the seeds. Root: potatoes, carrots; stem: celery; leaf: spinach, brussel sprouts, lettuce; flower: broccoli, couliflower, artichokes; fruit: all kinds of fruits including all the familily of squash; seeds: beans and brown rice and whole wheat grains. You get the point. The peson should drink 2 cups of water as soon as she wakes up, and have a minimum intake of 2 liters of liquid a day -water, teas -no sugar or chemical sweetners, fresh juice with no sugar added or chemical sweetners (fresh juice, not the kind you get out of the box), no sodas or processed drinks. I do not know wher you live or if the kind of life i just wrote about is even economically viable over there. I live in the caribbean, fruits and vegetables are cheap here. But what price would you put on your life and general well being? The lady should everyday at 9.30 pm sit for 30 minutes inside a basin filled with room temperature water until it reaches her belly button, her legs and feet should be outside the basin. This will ease her bowel movements. Good luck Laura, and remember that body is made up of 75% of water, you need to intake water, processed foods are dry=toxic El Sunday 04 November 2007 04:07:06 henry_buchtel escribió: > Just a thought- keeping her bowel movements soft should be a > priority... one day of straining could undo a lot of healing. > > Not very holistic... but I'm sure other folks will chime in there! > > Regards, > > Henry > > Chinese Medicine , Laura Cooley > > <lauramon wrote: > > Anyone have experience treating chronic anal fissure? Guest guest
I would recommend great care if you take all the fat out of the diet. Fat is required for the normal functioning of the GB and is what triggers the release of bile. Bile starts peristalsis... Without peristalsis there will be no bowel movement. Keep good fats in the diet and keep a good mix of fruits, vegetables and protein according to the needs of the individual. Adequate water is necessary, but even that can be over done hence putting strain on the kidneys, instead of assisting them. Moderation in all things. Guest guest
Its almost impossible to elimate all the fats from our diets, if you eat olives, you are taking in fats, if you eat avocado, you are taking in fats, bananas, seeds, beans, yoghurt, coconuts, they all contain fats. I just don't understyand why wuold you go out and buy a liter of oil considering that the extraction of the oil from corn/soybeans/sunflower seeds includes the use of chemicals which are only eliminated when the oil is heated? So basically, when you buy a liter of oil, it's supposed to never have been heated, but, and heres the big BUT, how do they remove the chemicals, in order to make it pure oil? so you are basically buying overheated oil which is, to say the least, completely toxic for your whole body, specially the circulatory system. Don't take my word for it, do your own research. That is why i wrote in my previous post that the intake of seeds was necessary. The problem is the extracted oil, it's been tampered with, you cannot compare fresh corn to corn seed oil, People used to live prior to the mass production of " foods " . Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your input. Unfortunately, she canceled the appt before she came. At least I learned enough about them to understand how to avoid them! A goal probably shared by all. Thanks again for everyone's time and energy on this list. Find it really valuable, especially now that I am in a solo practice. Warm regards, Laura Cooley
