That's a good question about preparing. It's one of those things - I need to go

in an take this hill NOW, or the whole village will be destroyed versus what is

comfortable for the individual.

I would mention that it is a clearing and some people can have emotional

releases that are more intense, others are very subtle. Also mention how good it

will be for her in the same breath.

I have a lot of stories about ID's and ED's. Here's two.

One that happened to me. I was new in practice. I graduated in Dec 2001,

starting renting space in my lovely small town here from a chiropractor. He was

having admin issues with a doctor he had partnered with - they were splitting

that up. The chi wasn't so great, so I rented my own small space in the same

complex. I painted the walls lavender, grape rug, wood blinds. I signed a lease

on April 15, 2002 for 1 year and the improvements I paid for.

On April 28, 2002, an F4 tornado hits our town. The worst of it is on my

street. 100 yr old trees were uprooted, buildings torn in half (very little

loss of life, since it happened on a Sunday evening). The Red Cross building

behind me was wood sided. I use to complain to myself about them parking their

van near one of my windows. That Red Cross buildiing became a stack of wood.

They were handing out water bottles to the town in chairs in front of the pile

of wood. The van (war torn by the tornado) was still in front of my window, but

I didn't care. My building avoided major damage - the windows all blew in and

the roof needed repair. I think it stood, because of it's location and building

in front of it. I had to pay the lease in that town for a year, while operating

out of my house. Somehow the chi wasn't conducive to healing.

Well, I was a mess to say the least. Wind had torn up a town. I was feeling a

lot of metal - loss, grief, what could have been and wasn't. I had looked

forward to working their for a long time.

I ran up to Columbia MD to my practiioner. It is 1.5 hrs away from me. She

treated me several times, ID's was one of them. A few weeks later I had agreed

to have a student treat me, to help her out of school. Also 1.5 hrs away. The

supervisor (a substitute) in the clinic said to her " Do ED's - external demons "

- the invasion came from outside. She did that treatment and I felt like a new

woman when I left that day. She treated me in metal (also the substitute

superviors's suggestion) that whole summer. Students have to stay with one

element (they can use other points for pulse quality). I think she and her

regular supervisor were seeing the fire (that I beleive is my CF), but metal was

so . . .very nice that summer.

I also treated a patient in the clinic who had abuse issues. She is still in my

practice by the way. When I did ID's she started screaming and it could be

heard all over the clinic. The supervisor (the only one on that day, because

the other one left due to sickness), came in very calm, and really, the talking

to her and staying with her is what calmed her down (I had a couple of partners

there too). She also felt very different (very good) after that.

It is a great treatment - even when everyday life gets a hold of you.
