From his wide studies, my Norwegian friend & colleague, Are Thoresen, has

a fascinating concept: that a PHYSICAL ORGAN (such as KI) is not the only

determinant of the PROCESS that that ORGAN is said to control!

In conventional western theory, KI functions should lie in (and depend

almost totally on) the health of the PHYSICAL KI ORGAN, which has

developed highly specialised cells and metabolic / enzymatic systems to

handle essential KI PROCESSES / Functions.

However, all ORGANS develop from one original cell (fertilised ovum). It can

be postulated that ALL cells (like stem cells) have the blueprint / potential

(albeit a latent blueprint / potential) to carry out ANY or ALL basic metabolic

functions.

From this, it is only a small step to postulate that when an organ is removed,

the body can " recruit help " from other cells in other tissues / organs to try to

fulfil the PROCESS or FUNCTIONS that have been impaired by removal of

the ORGAN.

I like the idea, but would hesitate to have a bilateral nephrectomy to test the

hypothesis!

Best regards,

Phil,

You mentioned the blue prints, it reminds me of DNA " a double helix

or strands " .

The double strands are very strongly bonded together........ are

these the strands the " Ki-Yang and Ki-Yin " with the bonded " Mingmen

fire- Gate of Life " ?

Mingmen Fire grows and gives birth to Ki-Yin and Ki-Yang. All 3 are

in one. If the bond is no longer holding the double strands, is there

a life? Is there a blue print?........... Is TCM a principle, a law ,

a profound wisdom in this vision ? I think if 2 kidneys are removed, a

life still existes, but not long. But if Mingmen Fire-the Breath of

Life is removed, life is ended immediately. I may be wrong.

Thanks for your stimualion, Phil.
