Guest guest
ACUPUNCTURE IN LABOR AND DELIVERY TRAINING PROGRAM As some of you already know, we (Claudia Citkovitz and Melani Bolyai, childbirthacupuncture.com) are planning an extensive, hands-on (16-20 births!) training session in acupuncture during labor and delivery, based on our clinical and research work at Lutheran Medical Center. Our first intensive two-week session, appropriate for out-of-towners, will take place in January of '08 (details to follow). But we want to start by training a core team of New York State Licensed Acupuncturists, with a semi-flexible schedule in November and December. We have a few wonderful women signed up already, but would love to know who’s out there and interested! Please forward on to friends and associates. The specifics: 1. The program consists of 32 didactic hours, 12 hours of clinical rounds, observation, and supervision as you watch 4 births and do acupuncture in 12-20. You will also be supervised in creating a piece of research or other publishable writing that can contribute to development of this exciting field. 2. Didactic classes (and rounds) meet at the hospital on Monday and Wednesday mornings from November 5 to December 12, 2007. 3. Observation and supervision take place either after class Monday and Wednesday or by arrangement on other weekdays. This can be taken at an intensive pace, finishing in December. Or, if it's better for your schedule, you can finish the didactic and observation sections in 2007 and choose 1 or 2 days a week to do supervision in 2008. 4. The cost for the program will be $4,000. Advanced standing (with appropriate reduction of cost) may be granted for qualified practitioners (doulas, RNs with birth experience, etc) on the basis of documentation and/or written examination. Please feel free to contact Claudia Citkovitz with any questions! ccitkovitz, (718) 630-7056.
