Guest guest
Petra, This seems to be a deficiency type with Liv QI stagnation, not excess. Ban Xia Tian ma Bai Zhu , I think it for excess condition. This may help this patient in the beginning but it will get worse. Where is the phlegm or Liv-wind or Liv Yang rising in this case for us to use Tian Ma and Ban Xia. These herbs will further deplete Qi and the worse scenerio may be expected. Geographic tongue indicates Sto yin def. Abdominal fullness or bloating belong to Stomach meridian. I do not recognize what HA means, but I think it is headache, isn't it ? Headache at temple indicates Liv-GB affect. Pulses : small and slippery indicates deficiency with damp accumulation. DIAGNOSIS : I guess this is a case of emotional problem related to work or family or from drug used that caused Liv Qi sluggishness ( stagnation )this led to indigestion ( food not moving ) and cause abdominal fullness and bloating ( gas accumulation ). SP and Sto digested food, transformed and transported Gu Qi, but with no help of Liv Qi, then it caused sluggish. Slippery and thready or small ( not enough flow, moving energy )appears. The main problem existed here is from the Liv, it affected the GB, not nourished GB channel and caused headache in temple area ( empty type ). Using phones, or hearing noise may exacerbate the problem because of deficiency, noises or sound are vibrating frequency ( external-wind ). With Liv yin and sto Yin def, any wind will aggravate their symptoms. Rx : I think it is best : Liv 3 ( activate, regulate and tonify Liv Qi ).......... If this one is done properly, no other point is needed. Otherwise, add some of these points S44 ( indigestion, move food ), Liv8 ( tonify Liv yin and smooth Liv Qi ) HERBAL : Choose one Liu Wei Di Huang Wan or Ping Wei san or both. Good luck, I hope this will help you. Nam Nguyen Chinese Medicine , " petrabuchanan " <petrabuchanan wrote: > > I have a patient, Female, mid 50's. Guest guest
not sure what bend bamboo is. you need to give us more about the h/a: quality/nature of pain, duration. any other sx/signs. based on the info here: c/b liver yg rising based on location: shao yang. i'm thinking its the heat from the cell phone causing the h/a. tian wan gou teng yin is the usual px for liv yg rising h/a. in giovanni gold, he also gives 2 other px for liver yg rising, depending on concurrent yin/xue xu. hope this helps, kb On 9/13/07, petrabuchanan <petrabuchanan wrote: > > I have a patient, Female, mid 50's.
