Good morning,

This is addressed to the moderator of our list as I think someone may

be harvesting our e-mail addresses.

Today, I received one of those e-mails that try to trick you into

responding to a plea to help someone get their money out of one foreign country

or another. I looked at the list of other people receiving this e-mail and many

of them had something in their address that made it clear that they are

acupuncturists. The return address from the sender was zoozoo00009

Recipients of the e-mail were asked to respond to sahu_arafat008

Since our TCM list is the only one I to that is for

acupuncturists, I'm guessing the person may have gotten my e-mail address from

our list. I don't know what, if anything, you can do about this, but I wanted

to let you know.

Many thanks, Elizabeth Casey, L.Ac.

I have gotten these before, but not now. I am on another list from my school,

and I am hearing a lot of acupuncturists mentions scam emails. Anything that

looks the slightest bit shady get the delete button for me, and none of my

attention.

I realize it can be an annoyance and I hope it stops for you.

Elizabeth,

Please forward a copy of the email on to me. I will check the membership

logs to see if either of these members are listed in our group. If anyone

else gets a similar message, please forward it on to me, and I will chase it

down.

Thanks,

Dear all,

FYI, there is an article in this week's LA Jewish Journal, about a guy who

decided to " scam the scammers " from Africa, and wrote a book about it. The book

is reviewed in an article called, " Conning a Con Artist " and the book is

entitled: Tuesdays with Mantu, my adventures with a nigerian con artist, by Rich

Siegel. He emphasizes that these guys are hardcore sophisticated criminals, who

are very connected and have developed intricate systems and methods to bilk

people out of millions. So if ever anyone receives any Email unsolicited from

Africa, don't even open it, just push the spam button. Here's the link:

http://www.jewishjournal.com/home/preview.php?id=18095

What was amazing to me is the sophistication of this scam. So please be

careful!

Sincerely,

Yehuda
