Guest guest
Hello Emily: Thank you for the info. But I was looking for the flier and couldn't find it. I would like to know how much the seminar is and what Dr.Matsumoto is going to teach. Please send me the flyer. I have never learned anything about KiKo's style but I have always been interested. Would this seminar be too deep for me? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Eva, I pasted the flyers below. I apologize if the formatting looks odd. Kiiko style can be complicated to learn, but the flyer says that the seminars are introductory. You can contact Eugenia for any further information, she is putting the workshops together. Her email is: monkeykingsdaughter Emily Kiiko’s Practical Application of Chinese Classics Sunday Seminar Series Presented by Kiiko Matsumoto Sponsored by Acuremedy/Eugenia Lai September 23 (Day 1), October 7 (Day 2), and November 4 (Day3), 2007 There is a growing need for acupuncturists to further educating themselves in better understanding Chinese Classics, learning to apply and incorporate these texts into their diagnostic methods, and enhancing their clinical ability to treat their patients with more effective and time-proven acupuncture techniques. Kiiko Matsumoto will provide course participants with a better understanding of Chinese Medical Classics, Hara Diagnosis, and Kiyoshi Nagano’s work. In learning Kiiko’s style of acupuncture through this course, participants will be able to improve their diagnostic skills and treatment strategies while applying her techniques into their clinical practice of pain management and treating other ailments. Her skills and clinical applications have proven to be among the most effective ways in reducing pain, managing stress, keeping balance between organ systems, and improving health for their patients. Course Objectives and Goals 1. Sharpen clinical skills in Kiiko Matsumoto’s unique Acupuncture Style and Method to improve clinical success. This is accomplished first by understanding the principle of Nanjing’s Eighth Difficult Issues. Incorporating the concepts into practitioner’s diagnostic process will affect the decisions as to which acupuncture points to use and how to execute them to attain better results in improving patients’ health. 2. Improve techniques of hara (abdominal) diagnosis. Learn the secrets of advanced palpation skills. Experience and recognize the signals that patient’s body (abdomen) send out through finger touching. Learn how to select various sets of acupuncture points based on these findings. 3. Apply Nagano’s techniques in acupuncture treatments to enhance clinical application’s quality in issues of the Fatty Liver and menstruation. Course covers: Nanjing’s Eighth Difficult Issues.Hara (Abdominal) DiagnosisFatty Liver issues and the menstruation issues per Nagano’s Methods Day 1 – Nanjing’s Eighth Difficult Issues. This part of the course concentrates on the Eighth Difficult Issue from Nanjing. All twelve meridians are linked with the origin of vital qi. The origin of the vital qi refers to the root and foundation of all twelve meridians and to the moving qi between kidneys. Kiiko Matsumoto explains how this system works and ties its concepts to the twelve Qi and the nature of our universe. She gives an insight into how it relates to the pulse and our whole body. Day 2 – Hara Diagnosis Kiiko Style acupuncture utilizes a systematic, easy to learn, palpatory method which is designed to provide instant feedback. When using this system, it establishes a diagnosis and suggests several treatment options which might be effective for treating a particular patient. Once learned, palpation becomes an easy to use method for obtaining instant feedback as to the patient’s condition of health. The diagnosis and treatment strategies follow one another in one circular motion. Specific active reflexes suggest the diagnosis and the treatment efficacy be established by changes in the same reflexes. Therefore it improves clinical results in acupuncture treatments. Day Three – Applying Nagano’s Acupuncture Methods in treating Fatty Liver Issues and Menstruation Issues Fatty liver is one of the major reflexes in clinical application of Kiiko’s/Nagano acupuncture style. Liver issues include stomatitis, angular cheilosis, inflammation of mucous membrane and cardiac disease associated with tension below the sternum. The course touches upon this important topic and provides diagnostic and treatment techniques to deal with these issues. Another topic relates to the action of the Bao Mai relating to menstruation. Kiiko Matsumoto describes their interaction and the reason why the menstruation stops due to the close of the Bao Mai. Acupuncture diagnosis and treatments follow her analysis with practical presentations in the class. ries 9/23, 10/7, & 11/4 9:00 - 5:30 pm Press Release: Master Kiiko Matsumoto offers introductory seminar in Boston on her unique style of acupuncture. She will discuss her theory and style based on her study and practical application of Chinese medical classics, abdominal palpation and work of Master Nagano.
