Guest guest
My is friend currently treating a patient, female age 62. She has had an itching symptom which is worse in the summer, and worse in daylight - the itch has been for years since she was very young. BP pressure is normally over 170mmHg ( 170 / 98 ). Easily irritated, verbose, dry body, dry tongue. slippery rapid pulse, thin dry yellow coat. Her 3 daughters are medical doctors, her youngest son is a lunatic " retarded " . She is very bright and very aggressive. She has fears for wind or draft. THe particular symptom was heat and cold has been alternated " chills and fevers " almost daily. She was treated with different herbalist with Huang Ba, Ku Shen and other dampheat formulas. It got worse and worse... WE all know why I believe. After taking some Xiao Chai Hu Tang ............ Some thing weird happened !!!!!! THe blood pressure slumped down to 100 - 120 / 70 - 75. OH ! The alternating fevers and chills disappeared " Shaoyang channel " . However, the itching remains without effects.......... WHAT I AM ASKING MYSELF IS ABOUT THE BP ??? WHY does it goes down ? My friend said he did not know the answer. All he did was treating the Shaoyang channel. DOES THIS MESSAGE GIVE US ANY CLUES ABOUT BP in the future ? How can we analyze this ? IS THIS REAL OR IS HE PULLING MY LEGS ??? Thanks you all for viewing this and take time to analyze this. Nam Nguyen
Guest guest
Dear Nam, Perhaps it can be explained as follows: Hypertension often is related to liver yang rising, which can be the consequence of Kd Yin Xu. Itching also, especially long term, can often be related to Kd Yin Xu, as well as Liver Xue Xu and from your description there are other obvious signs of Kd Yin Xu: easily irritated, dry body, try tongue, etc. We know that there is a close relationship between the GB and the Liv. You were absolutely correct treating Shao Yang, but that was just one layer of the problem. Treating a patient who at their root is obviously deficient with herbs like Ku Shen or Huang Bai, is of course going to exascerbate their condition. IMHO you need to moisten and supplement Kd Yin and Lv Xue as well, once you have resolved the Shao Yang. 'Much success, Yehuda dr_namnguyen58 <dr_namnguyen58 wrote: My is friend currently treating a patient, female age 62.
