Guest guest
Hi there, you are allowed to practise acupuncture in Spain without being a medic. I've been doing it since 1998 and I am not a " rogue! " The situation is that it is classed as alternative medicine and not " regulated " , but that doesn't mean it's illegal. In fact, the region of Cataluña have just passed a law this May to make acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathy legal in that region. What happens there usually follows throughout Spain from central government a few years later. The region of Valencia are now in discussion to do the same as Cataluña. There are a couple of schools that run courses associated with universities to get a university diploma, otherwise they are all private. So in theory if you studied 2 months, 2 years or 5 years, with your diploma, and paying all your taxes you are allowed to practise. When it becomes " regulated " as did Chiropractic and Osteopathy in the UK in 1991 and 1995 (I stand corrected on these dates!) then a standard of education will apply. Meanwhile, no problem for Acupuncture. Herbal medicine is different. In order to prescribe drugs, herbs or chemical, you need to be a medical doctor. Although the law in Cataluña now includes Chinese herbal medicine. In France you have to be a medical doctor, that I also know, the other countries I'm not sure, Denmark and Sweden I believe have had a change in their law recently, but others will know better. Come to Europe and enjoy TCM best wishes Sharon Nilsson Spain _______________ Busca desde cualquier página Web con una protección excepcional.
