Guest guest
Hello: I wonder if anyone might comment on the following report from a woman in her late fifties. She has seen an acupuncturist who found nothing wrong, and who referred her to a doctor of western medicine. The woman says that the condition most likely does not stem from sexual contact as she has been abstinate for many years. " Regarding my health problem, it started maybe in February or early March, one day I felt the terrible urgency to urinate, with a strong burning sensation, I was in an area with not bathroom so I had to hold it until we got to a place I could use one, but still, that urinate need was persistent and constant, I had to run to the bathroom after few minutes of being there and just for drops or urine. It lasted some days, maybe a week, treated with garlic and cranberry juice; the need was not so urgent after I started the treatment and less and less until it went away completely. " But it returned a few days after, mildly though and different, it was more a light burning sensation and itch around the vagina, not internally though, and still I felt a mild need to urinate also. I treated applying garlic oil to the affected areas, the sensation went away relatively fast, within the hour i would say, then a couple of days later came back in the same way, and has been so since then. " The woman has recently reported that blood now has appeared in her urine. Helpful comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks, Jack Sweeney
Guest guest
Untreated a Urinary Tract Infection can cause Kidney infection. This patient should see a MD. ASAP. *After* western treatment she could see an Acupuncturist. Guest guest
This lady must see her G.P. straight away. It sounds as though her original urinary tract infection may have tracted upwards to affect the kidneys; they are too precious an organ to mess around with and not treat with Western medication immediately in a case like this. If antibiotics are given, then a course of probiotics can follow this treatment, alongside any appropriate Chinese medical treatment to redress the underlying problem. Ann Brownbill. Guest guest
Yes, I agree. If she experiences any fever and chills or is positive for knocking pain over the flank then a visit to an MD is an urgent requirement. Hopefully they will take into account the underlying differential and consider such issues as diabetes and urinary tract obstruction while they're at it. Guest guest
Hello: Thank you all for your replies, I have forwarded them to this woman. Some explanation: I helped this woman with divination for her relationship, and the illness appeared as a secondary matter, it just glared out from her chart. I asked whether she had problems and she provided those details. It is a challenge to help her, as she lives in a remote rural area with limited access to money and transportation, as well as internet access. She lives in California while I live in China, so communication with her is sporadic and difficult. Moreover, she doesn't believe in western medicine and has attempted to treat herself. With the information you have provided, I will impress upon her the need to see a doctor of wm as soon as possible.
