Guest guest
Has anyone heard of iolife? See http://www.iolife.co.uk/ that it is more effective than acupuncture for pain relief. Guest guest
Hi Attilio, Yes. It is used by a guy within the motor neuron society in the UK who claims he has been having amazing results with it. I spoke to him at length and after this, I got the company to come down so I could try it with a patient of mine who has motor neuron disease. (It apparently was invented my an acupuncturist in Denmark and a number of acupuncturist over there use it with acupuncture, but it mainly used on it¹s own). It looks a bit like a TDP lamp but send a light cold air, which apparently changes the concentration of ions in the air. I don¹t understand how that then treats so many different diseases I have asked them to send me more information about the scientific side of it but I've still haven¹t received anything. (The guy that came to demonstrate it to me, was more a rep than anything and wasn¹t able to give me precise details except than case stories.) I first thought it might work like when you use different material of needles and thus changes the direction of the flow of electrons for pain or burns. But it just sits at about 20cm from the body and I don¹t really understand how that works out, for so many conditions. Let me know if you get more information or if it makes any sense to you. Guest guest
WATCH OUT FOR !!!!!!!!! There are so many forms of ads which are so deceiving. Let them do the work and we wait for more info to come. There were so may dishonest claims, such as Alovera, Queen Bee for so may illnesses ( cancers, high blood pressure, hepatitis , arthritis, cholesterol ... ) , Noni , garlic, onion , pineapple ... and there will be more coming. As a professional , I think we should stay away from them as MDs, and watch them do the tricks ??? We are not criticizing any forms of medicine, but observing. I think our best bet is to converge our wisdom into western medicine to form " ACU-WEST " from Western diagnosis and producing TCM view and treatment plan. We may have better chance to help our patients. THIS IS JUST AN OPINION. I heard of ionization treatments by ionizing the air-room years ago. It died out a long time ago. Now , there is another new form , from acupuncture. I hope it works, but I doubt it. Chinese Medicine , May Lucken-Ardjomande <maylucken wrote: > > Hi Attilio, > Yes. Guest guest
Hi, It¹s definitely not more effective than acupuncture. There is not really any diagnostic procedure and from what I see it¹s only kind of ¨personal life stories¨, nothing else. I have asked for more information but it¹s been at least a month now and i have seen nothing yet. Guest guest
Yes you are right. My patient has motor neuron disease and it is progressing quickly. I provide relief for muscle pain, tremors and spasm and ease her hand movements but it is still progressing fast. She nearly can¹t speak now and has just had a feeding tube inserted in her stomach. I understand her panic and the need for her family to try everything. That¹s how I came across this machine. And for them I wanted to look more into it and understand why it is supposed to work. But they haven¹t provided me with any precise information. Apparently the are getting accredited by BUPA (high standard private insurance in the UK). But that could be an add too. Guest guest
Hi, I didn¹t feel or see any difference, while I was doing the acupuncture. My patient didn¹t feel anything during the treatment, other than the normal acupuncture ¨feeling¨. She said that she thought she got a slightly stronger effect than with acupuncture alone, on the strength of her hands afterwards. But she wasn¹t completely sure. And this could be the ¨hope for something to work¨. I spoke at length with the guy from the motor neuron society to understand how he used it. Also I wanted to understand how in terms of chinese medicine the patterns he was presenting changed. I am going to meet up with him in the next month and I will let you know what I find out. There is no protocol or diagnostic method that changes the way you use the machine. On their web site at www.iolife.co.uk they have a section explaining how the machine works, and also how it compares to acupuncture. I don¹t think this section explains anything correctly but have a look if you have time. May On 3/8/07 03:31, " Hugo Ramiro " <subincor wrote: > > > > > Hi May, but what happened at your session?
