Guest guest
Hi All, Whilst on the subject of eye diseases: Has anyone had good results in treating chronic eye diseases? I am an acupuncturist who is also rapidly going blind due to congenital retinitis pigmentosa and Keratoconus (oh yes, and I also get floaters as well). I have, as you can imagine, tried most of the classical acupuncture and herbal prescriptions without any success so far. Most of the literature available seems to be based on reworked old texts, rather than, results in clinic (incidentally I finally received my copy of David Major's book on EAP which may be useful, although it wont be an easy read for me as the print is feint and microscopic!). If anyone has had any success in this area, I should most grateful to hear about it. Many thanks, Mark DA
Guest guest
Hi Mark, Have you seen: " Acupuncture for the Eyes " by Julian Scott, ISBN #0939616467? Also, don't underestimate the long term effect of regular treatment based upon pattern differentiation, particularly when we treat ourselves. I prepare for my wife complex and constantly adapted formulas for her seizure and movement disorders, two very different formulas morning and evening, morning basically treating Kd and Sp Qi Xu with phlegm accumulation, and evening basically treating Yin Xu and Shen disorder. I cook 3 days worth of herbs and constantly change them and you know what? Just like sculpting, slowly, gradually her complex symptoms are resolving! But it takes a lot of time and alot of perseverence. Guest guest
Hi Thank you Yehuda and Elie for your replies, I really appreciate it. I do have have Julian Scott's book and I have now ordered Andy Rosenfarb's as well. I am currently taking herbs but not to support my eyes, but to help my digestion which is weak at the moment. Unfortunately I am rather sensitive to a lot of the herbs that are indicated for eye problems (weak digestion is another congenital weakness that I have). I agree with you that probably a " drip drip " approach may the best course to take. I will obviously have to embark on a daily/2xday regime of acupunture, herbs and Qi Gong. Maybe the problem so far has been the frequency of treatments, rather than, the protocol (certainly in the case of AP). Anyway thanks again, Mark
Guest guest
Hi Mark - Check out Dr. Richard Niemtzow's website. He is a physician acupuncturist who works for the US Military. He has developed excellent protocols for dry mouth and macular degeneration (uses microcurrent stimulation). I have seen him treat mac.degen. patients with good results (i.e. improved vision based on eye chart). He is usually very responsive to questions via phone or email. Here is the site: http://n5ev.com/general_info.htm Good luck- Adam Chinese Medicine , " Mark Norris " <marknorris wrote: > > Hi > > > > Thank you Yehuda and Elie for your replies, I really appreciate it. > > I do have have Julian Scott's book and I have now ordered Andy Rosenfarb's > as well.
