Would anyone have any information as to when fluoride was introduced

in Canada's drinking water?

Thanks

Hanneke

Thanks Bea,

Since my last post I have done some googling, and it gave quite a

few articles about Canada and fluoridation of drinking water.

Luckily, it works out the over half of Canada is apparently free of

fluoride.

My question came about after I read that, on another forum, people were

recommending drinking water but nobody highlighted the fact that tap

water should be avoided if fluoridated. And that's apart from the added

chlorine and other nasties (PCB's pesticides, contamination

because of drugs etc).

One lady said that she grew up in Canada, on the tap water, 54 years now

and there was nothing wrong with it.. All her family have thyroid

problems but that was genetic. ????

That made me wonder when it got introduced. It looks like her

memory might be failing a little as I tend to find data now suggesting it

was introduced in the late sixties, one report specifically states

1973. Fluoride might have gotten to her without her realising

it.

If you would want to pass on the results of your investigation I would appreciate it---either in the forum or private. I used to have the info but it got lost along the way.

Thanks

All~I thought it might be important to tell those of you who live in Canada, and especially British Columbia, that you have had 2 very important people to thank for not having Fluoride in your water. They are Dr. Richard Foulkes and his wife Anne Anderson, R.N. He used to be the medical advisor to the government of B.C. When he found out how bad Fluoride was, he and his wife worked tirelessly not only in Canada, but in the U.S. to have Fluoride banned. They also went to the U.S. Congress. They were wonderful people and we shall miss them very much as they both passed away a few years back. Today, Dr. Paul Connett, professor emeritus of Chemistry from St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y. works internationally to ban Fluoride from water supplies. I believe he has had much success in Quebec and they are in the process of banning Fluoride. Go to fluoride.alert.org for more info and the wonderful work he does. If anyone else wants to have help in getting Fluoride removed from their water districts, please contact him.We have found out one thing.....and that is~~ "THEY" never give up. In the U.S., the plan was to have the whole country fluoridated by the year 2000. However, because of all the hard work we have done at the grass roots level, they did not achieve their goal~~. They do try to come back again and again.....Maybe now with so many countries, states and communities being educated to ban Fluoride, "THEY" are beginning to realize that we will never buckle under and give up either.Regards~ Jean W.E.
