If we wish to regulate our hearts, we must first regulate our thoughts.

If we wish to regulate our thoughts, we must first extend our knowledge.This extension of knowledge lies in the investigation of things.Things being investigated, knowledge becomes complete.With complete knowledge, we are able to hold sincere thoughts.If we hold sincere thoughts, our hearts become regulated.When our hearts are regulated, we become cultivated people.

When we become cultivated people, our families become cultivated.

When our families are cultivated, our affairs become cultivated.When our affairs are cultivated, the whole world becomes cultivated.

From The highest people to the lowest people, we must all consider the cultivation of the person as the root of everything.If we neglect the root, then we neglect everything.
