Guest guest
No, reducing the fluid intake only increases the problem - flushing more water through in the right way is helpful but the right sort of water and not too fast - build up gradually - and adjust other things as you go - it is a very personal thing and it may not be obvious what the immediate problem is - if there is a heavy gut,. for example, it could stop the lymph redistributing the fluid to the lower limbs - it is important to treat this first and you can treat this simply and things resolve very quickly afterwards ................ You get the patient to lie flat on the back, place your hands under the belly - have them take a deep breath and then cough hard on the out breath, as they cough you push the belly upwards firmly and deeply, get them to do this 6 or 7 times and then again every hour - the difference is enormous Jane - " pstoldham " <pstoldham > Would it not be better drinking as least possible liquids to lessen this problem?
