Guest guest
Music has for many centuries been recognized not only for its value as entertainment but also for the deeper seeded value it is capable of offering the listener. The music listener can range from an unborn baby to a senior citizen and every generation in between. Music studies have reveled a multitude of benefits, music can create effects on blood pressure and health as well as an increasing intelligence. Music has been found to stimulate artistic abilities and assist in teaching our youth. With out music we would most certainly be a doomed cultural, creating limitation's not only with understanding personal expression but potentially limiting the spirit of all our youth. We have become a cultural of faced paced gratification requiring technological equipment for nearly every activity right down to our own imaginations. Our children are slowly loosing their abilities to create and articulate, they are simply becoming lifeless. Their health is becoming a major factor as they are absorbed by television and video games. Their spirits are becoming suppressed as we no longer require them to wonder, imagine and express their inner spirit. We as a society are requiring less of ourselves and demanding more of our computer. As we think we are creating freedom we are becoming prisoners. We are no longer cultivating free thinkers, artist and musicians. As we continue to look for our imaginations, our entertainment and our since of expressions in boxes versus the clouds we will find ourselves more rapidly entering our own boxes, coffins. Our school system needs to be re-evaluated, perhaps we should look to our elders as they were a generation of musicians and artists, allowing room for personal expression. The way in which we are raising our youth needs to be completely re-invented. We need married mothers and father united not your girlfriend and boyfriend's part time investment. We need creativity and music to be cultivated in the home and in our education system. We owe it to our children to provide an environment of self expression, we owe it to our children to be prepared to parent full time not turn on an electronic device to do it for us. If we continue to cut budgets in our school systems and eliminate the arts we will find that we have a society of mindless, expressionless drones that simple do not have the ability to create. With out this wonderful stimulating expression of both music and art we are killing the Mozart's and Van Gogh's of tomorrow. We are killing ourselves. Music and art is the fruit of our lives, true entertainment.
Guest guest
Remember the story (I mean true here) of the nuns who died when they stopped singing? It was in Time magazine one year Or did they get better when they started singing?
