The tree grows as tall as 30 meters and is known by the name taheebo. Unlike other trees in the area, pau d’arco does not develop fungus growth. The tree bark was one of the major plants used to promote health and immunity among the Incas, and its use has continued among the Callawaya tribe in South America. Pau d’arco contains a chemical called lapachol, which may provide nutritional support to the immune system. The bark is stripped by hand vertically from the ground up about 6 or 7 feet, leaving enough bark intact to ensure the life of the tree. Nature’s Sunshine’s pau d’arco comes from Brazil. It is available in a variety of forms, including capsules, bulk for tea, liquid extract and soothing, softening lotion. Each capsule contains 500 mg pau d’arco. Five capsules equal two cups of Taheebo tea. Take 2 capsules with a meal three times daily. Liquid, take 1/2 teaspoon with water three times daily. Lotion is for external use only. Pau d'arco is also available in the following combination packages: BP-X Pau d'Arco Power Pack Red Clover Blend Defense Maintenance Caprylimune

Guest guest
Personal Testimony on Pau d ArcoI came down with severe allergies in 1994, when I lived in the high mountains of New Mexico. My wife at the time, being an RN, looked through her nursing manuals and found this herb. (Yes, in the US they teach nurses all about herbs and their uses, however, this information is only supposed to be used to help the Doc diagnose, and they cannot give out any information on herbs to any patient.) Taking Pau cured my allergies. It takes at least two days to have an effect, and then you feel great and forget to take it. DON*T forget as then the Allergies come back in a few days and you suffer for two more days. I have used it continuously now for 14 years, until five months ago when I replaced it with Sea-Buckthorn Berry Oil. In the American Pharmaceutical Association Practical Guide to Natural Medicines, which is a translation from the German manual, it gives this herb a rating of 5, which is the worse it can get which means " Studies indicate that there is a definate health hazard to using this substance, even in reccommended amounts " , which is completey bull sh** in my mind. It is only hazardous to the pocket books of Big Pharma. Pau was studied as a cure for cancer, and of course it is not strong enough for that use, but in the studies, which my wife obtained a copy of, it stated that all allergies were cured during the cancer trials. So obviously they had to diss the product big time. I have reccommended it to well over 50 people since then and ALL of them have thanked me profusely and ALL of them cured their allergies with this fine Herb, even the cigarette smokers. For six years now, while my Allergies were abated, I still had a clogging deep in my sinuses. Feeling stuffy. My life-partner didn't like the snoring it caused and I didn't like that I was always swallowing trying to relieve pressure. I upped my doses of Pau, but it didn't help. That is when I tried this Berry Oil that is grown here in Estonia. It worked fantastic and cleared everything up within 3 weeks. I stopped taking Pau one week ago and no allergies to this day, but that is a short time so we will have to see if it holds. I am working on getting this great Berry Oil that grows wild and is cultivated here to market and if I succeed, I will let you know in the Advertisement section on the First of the month.
