Hey I need suggestions for a recipe that I can make for my son's football team. They are unbeaten 14-0 and heading to conference playoff this Thurs. The school feeds them crappy food so I was kind of looking for something that I could give them individually that will be total nutrition and energy. They gotta win this game to go on to State.

They are teenagers so its gotta be yummy. Anyone???

Re: O/T looking for recipe

Hey Clare

I have a product here called Raw Coconut Chocolate Butter that is the consistency of fudge which I bought to try - you can melt it and pour over whatever OR you could melt it into a baking tin and then cut into squares - as a chocolate fudge substitute it would do fine. In the jar it is SOLID. hard in cold weather .....

The ingredients are

Organic Raw Coconut oil

Organic raw cacao powder

Organic Agave syrup

Himalayan crystal salt

One could say it was quite divine lol and you could make your own I'm just not sure about the proportions of how you can blend syrups, powders and oils to make such a lovely texture (a bit like making chocolate crackles I suppose) but if I was recreating it I would add vanilla, this always softens the quality and flavour of chocolate.

I'm getting this for Christmas presents this year for my friends - you'd better say now if you want to be added to the list!!

best,

Jane

I made this gojiberry slice which everyone loved - it is gluten free so wont weigh them down - you could do it in a tray and cut into squares - its filling, nutritious and yum - you do all the first bit in a food processor

500g (thats 1lb) almonds, processed until fine, add

200g dry goji berries and process

200g sunflower seeds & process

100g dried apricots and or cranberries or both & process

Place the above mix into a large bowl, add

1 cup gluten free flour or cornflour or rice flour

2 cups of fine sugar - or 1 cup of agave syrup

mix well with

8 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

1 pinch sea salt

mix well, spread into a baking tray and cook until golden (about 45 minutes or a little longer) @ 160 - 175'C ( 300 - 325'F)

Cool in pan, cut while still warm

Everyone really enjoyed it.

Here in Oz we can buy wolfberries - which are exactly the same thing - at any Chinese grocer about $4 - 1Ib - if you can't find them add more dried apricots instead, or cranberries - whatever they might prefer, any dried fruit is nice
