The vitamin D paradox

I think the sun/skin cancer scare started just so the companies that

sell hazardous sun blocks could be sold. That's what really causes

skin cancer, is all the chemicals people put on their skin. Of course

you don't want to get a sunburn, but there are natural lotions with

antioxidants you can put on your skin that help prevent free radical

damage.

we've heard that spending time in the sun will increase our risk of

skin cancer, while, on the other hand, we are hearing more and more

reports that vitamin D, which is produced by the body following

exposure to sunlight, will reduce our risk of cancer and heart disease.

Tammy, I actually use one that I sell, so won't mention the name of it

here, but you can probably find some antioxidant lotions at your

health food store. The ingredient you want to look for is beta

glucan. And the lotion should be a nice violet color - without

artificial colors added - (violet is the color of beta glucan).
