Date: Sunday, September 14, 2008, 11:16 PM Can one become unhealthily healthy? In other words do you think that health can become an unhealthy obsession and a burden to ones quality of life and love? Is there a limit to healthy health? I once had a health conscious friend. We started out exploring and discovering healthier health together. It was great fun in the beginning... we even went of a water fast for 4 weeks together! He then decided to stop eating meat when the fast was broken, and I decided to continue eating meat, in a more balanced meal form and also in greater moderation. Before long he decided to stop eating cooked meals and only ate raw fruits and veggies and nuts. I noticed he was becoming more moody and having less fun with life. Before long even his taste for music changed...no longer was "rock 'n roll" and other music except classical and Gregorian Chant healthy either! The next phase was cutting out the veggies...ONLY FRUIT!!! And from there it finally 'evolved' itself to only Fruit JUICE..NO Pulp or skins...just the juice...and he ended up looking like the prune from whose life-force juice was extracted. Our friendship ended over prune juice..the health issues evolved itself so far that I ( and all other veggies and meat and fruit eaters ) was/were a 'bad influence' to health... I recently read a simple smart sentence in an article... "All things are good when we learn to master them, but no thing is good when it masters us. " Part of being healthy, is about having a healthy MIND too, eh : ) Health is also BIG BUSINESS as much as treating symptoms of illness and disease is. In the end it's really all about the quality of life and love that we each choose for ourselves..and that will include our health, but not just physical health. Many with terminal illnesses live a quality life til the very end too. Dare we lose ourselves to an unhealthily obsession and lifestyle relating to Health?
