Guest guest
Plants are chemicals. some are natural. if you don't want moldy, fungi, fermented juice . Making fresh at home doesn't require any preservation for shelf life. For example, if I grow some Basil and then add it to my tomato sauce it doesn't then become toxic. If i make maple syrup and add it to my winter squash it doesn't then become toxic. Derived from simply means ;come from, made from etc. hope this helps. Andrea"Hill8628" <Hill8628To: Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 7:05:38 AMRe: Re: Young Living Antioxidant Informative Tour I wondered about this myself as MSG is found naturally in foods but when we take it out of the foods and concentrate it and add it to other foods it becomes a problem for our body. Jackie - Clares Primus Tuesday, September 16, 2008 12:36 AM Re: Re: Young Living Antioxidant Informative Tour Dear Andrea I am reading much - as I can lately about the differences in natural versus synthetic.... whole foods versus individual components etc and I found this phrase (derived from ) in your email puzzling........... Surely if it is dervived from, then it is a component part of but NOT the whole thing? I am not even trying to enter into a fight / argument / discussion about the particular products your are distributing...... I only drink whole fresh juice I have made myself, at home, with out bench top juicer...... no added ANYTHINGS or DERIVATIVES of anything either. It is the terminology I am questioning. Surely we do not need to add these derived chemicals to fresh wholesome foods? Like it or not they are chemicals we can do without? Cheer's C in T Sodium Benzoate is derived from cranberries, apples, plums, cloves and cinnamon. It is used to kill bacteria, yeast and fungi and to inhibit fermentation. "natural" Potassium Sorbate is the; Salt of Sorbic Acid, which is derived from the berries of the Mountain Ash. It is used to inhibit the growth of molds and yeasts. __________ Click for free info on online degrees and make up to $150K/ year.
Guest guest
I also agree with Carol about the Sodium Benzoate, no matter where it comes from. Plus when mixed with ascorbic acid it turns to benzene a known carcinogen. I also don't want to start a discussion about who's product is good, better or best and why. I think as believers and supporters of natural health care, we need to support one another. But my bigger issue with this product is the founder of the company. Who going back to the early 80's has repeatedly inflated and falsified his education, credientals and experience. He has been arrested and plead guilty in the past of practicing medicine without a license. His Masters and PhD " degrees " are from a well known diploma mill and not an accredited university. He is not and never was licensed in Utah or any other state. He also claims to have Turkish credentials and was invited to speak on behalf of the United Nations which both are not true. Not to mention numerous reports of people sending in blood to his clinic for analysis and being told a variety of things that when the same blood was sent to a medical patholigist, nothing could be found. *My personal favorites were a woman being told SHE had prostate cancer and a chicken, yes a chicken being told they were in liver failure amongst other things. No one noticed the blood sample was not human. Even as recent at 2005 he was sued for throwing a woman into kidney failure. The case was settled for an undisclosed amount of mone. He, last I knew had fled or moved his clinic to Ecudor where he is able practice without prejudice. And this isn't Crazy Lori making this stuff up. There are over 50 newpaper, magazine articles, scientive journal articles, Court documents and even Licensing agency documentation to back all this up. Guest guest
Yeah, we'll such stupid minions we simply believe whatever we are told, like a freaky little cult. It can't possibly be that many of us are educated folk, practioners of some sort of alternative and conventional healthcare ( you know the kind who actual have degrees and certifications) and that we actually use the products with success and speak from our hearts & personal experience when recommending something. it also couldnt be thousands of years of research, documentation and historical record either. you will notice on the Young Living webiste there is no slander or defamation of our "competitors" YL members hardly rely on the opinion of simply one source or one man. we are kinda smart and, do loads of research on our own. I always assume a company that resorts to bashing the competitor rather then, promoting their own products, must not have alot of faith in thier products. it reminds me of politicians. but then again i am brainwashed so why listen to me. I sure hope i dont get hit with a storm produced by a giant weather manipulating machine. ah well, good luck to you.Kathy <vanokat Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 6:58:02 PMRe: Re: Young Living Antioxidant Informative Tour YLEO is famous for brainwashing people into believing what they want them to believe. Guest guest
You are absolutely right. I've seen plenty of medical mishaps and cover ups in my 25+ plus in health care, traditional and natural/alternative. When I started my conversation, I prefaced that we are all in this together (promoting natural health care) and that MY issue was . . . It is about educating yourself and making an INFORMED decision about your healthcare. My research has lead me to believe that those products and that company are not for me. While I completely support your right and encourage you to educate others on your products, I felt, due to the nature of Mr Young's history, that others be aware of it too Then they too could make an informed and educated decision. And I'm not going to promote my preferred product of choice because I see this as a form for health education and not one to sell products. Again, just my opinion. Guest guest
Andrea, do you know how silly this sounds? Your juice hasn't been around for thousands of years, so how could they have researched it for thousands of years? The research was done on the BERRY - not the finished, processed, preserved fruit juice mix. It's the WHOLE BERRY that has the high antioxidant value. So as I said before, eat the berry, and don't give benzoates to kids! Guest guest
Silly is not actually reading an entire message and the reply. I can see this is a campaign by obvious competitors. I am hardly taking it personally. Try to keep up. the original "nasty" message targeted the entire Young Living company , ALL of it's products, and it's distributors and customers. I have a great idea, if you don't like the company don't buy the products? I was referring to oils and herbs etc that have absolutely been used, studied and been successful for thousands of years. buy your oils where ever you want. i could really care less. It's the nastiness i can do without. But then again what do you expect from a brainwashed minion? bluegreensolutions <bluegreensolutions Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 9:22:37 PM Re: Young Living Antioxidant Informative Tour Andrea, do you know how silly this sounds? Guest guest
I am not a competitor. I do not sell any kind of fruit juice. I'm just very concerned about the diets of our young people (and everybody, for that matter). Sodium Benzoate is Sodium Benzoate, no matter how you make it. And what chemicals are used to isolate it from those fruits? I can't stress enough - DON'T give benzoates to kids - ANY benzoates! Research published in 2007 for the UK's Food Standards Agency suggests that sodium benzoate is linked to hyperactive behavior and decreased intelligence in children. According to the report, consumption of sodium benzoate is associated with a reduction in IQ of close to 5.5 points. On September 6, 2007, the British Food Standards Agency issued revised advice on certain artificial food additives, including sodium benzoate. Professor Jim Stevenson from Southampton University, and author of the report, said: " This has been a major study investigating an important area of research. The results suggest that consumption of certain mixtures of artificial food colors and sodium benzoate preservative are associated with increases in hyperactive behavior in children. Guest guest
I respect your opinion. I research the products I buy, not the salesman. If i want to buy a truck, i really don't care about the salesman's personal life struggles. I have no problem with a respectful rebuttal. I do however take issue when I or myself, are mistreated by nasty people who seem to take the liberty to be insulting and abusive. I agree completely that it seems to be acceptable in our society to take drugs that ,while under trials ,killed people or animals. or to try a therapy or drug simply because the Doctor Gods say it will work. No treatment is perfect or infallible and one must educate themselves and, it is always buyer beware. My original post was in response to, someones request for people's personal experience with Fibromyalgia, i listed several products by various companies. I was not promoting any particular product , just sharing my journey. My family has used herbs and oils, and tonics, and "old wives tales" forever. I joined this company because it benefitted me and my particluar choice in health care. I didnt join to make a million dollars. When i do promote something it is because i know it works, based on persoanl experience , not to make a buck. I appreciate your respectful opinion and your concern for others. Lori <lori Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 9:05:14 PM Re: Young Living Antioxidant Informative TourYou are absolutely right. I've seen plenty of medical mishaps and cover ups in my 25+ plus in health care, traditional and natural/alternative. When I started my conversation, I prefaced that we are all in this together (promoting natural health care) and that MY issue was . . .It is about educating yourself and making an INFORMED decision about your healthcare. Guest guest
If you check my original post i wasn't recommending the juice to be given to kids. In my second post i merely pointed out where the substance comes from why it is in the juice and other products. However; ever since i shared" numerous" products, by various companies, i use to treat the symptoms of my Fibromyalgia I have been under attack. In original post i never mentioned i am a member of YL. I only made reference to it when giving the source and, reason for the substances in the juice. The literature distributed by YL clearly states "not recommended for children" I understand your concern, but sometimes people in this group become downright nasty, and judgemental when they disagree. If i am not interested in a particular posting i simply delete it. I dont feel the need to go and on, for days and weeks, harping and trying to make my point. If i do respond i make sure I read the posts and replies in full before i reply and i never insult anyone . Everyone is entitlted to their opinions, beleifs, and preferences. I use the products i choose because i expereince results, not becaused i am silly, or a brainwashed minion. I used oils, herbs, foods, and juices prior to becoming a YL member. My family has always used them. This particular company merely offers me the quality and convenience i need. Another nasty responder gave a link to his products so consider the source. I have a past, i'm sure everyone in this room does. YL consitently cites their mission, purpose and makes no claims of miracle cures or million dollar incomes. I have found nothing but sincere , caring people in this community. I have never met Mr. Young however if he had a personal journey of his own it is no business of mine. It is pretty hard to offer any support without promoting something. I mean really,I grow herbs, should I not promote echinacea?bluegreensolutions <bluegreensolutions Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 9:40:10 PM Re: Young Living Antioxidant Informative Tour I am not a competitor. I do not sell any kind of fruit juice. I'mjust very concerned about the diets of our young people (andeverybody, for that matter).Sodium Benzoate is Sodium Benzoate, no matter how you make it. Andwhat chemicals are used to isolate it from those fruits?I can't stress enough - DON'T give benzoates to kids - ANY benzoates! Research published in 2007 for the UK's Food Standards Agencysuggests that sodium benzoate is linked to hyperactive behavior anddecreased intelligence in children. According to the report, consumption of sodium benzoate is associated with a reduction in IQ ofclose to 5.5 points. On September 6, 2007, the British Food StandardsAgency issued revised advice on certain artificial food additives, including sodium benzoate.Professor Jim Stevenson from Southampton University, and author of thereport, said: "This has been a major study investigating an importantarea of research. The results suggest that consumption of certainmixtures of artificial food colors and sodium benzoate preservativeare associated with increases in hyperactive behavior in children.Carol , andrea brown<mlsw532000 wrote:>> Hi all.
