It needs to be borax which is a mineral salt of Boron or boric acid which is another Boron form.

I found this very interesting and I was wondering if it has to be Borax or if any powdered laundry soap will work.tannis z TN

I have been told borax works for ants as well? Ants are horrible this year (sugar ants) - any ideas i can use that would be safe around my spoiled kitty?

I've used just normal table salt. I was told that it breaks the backs on fleas and they die and you then vacumm after a couple of days of being on the carpets. It works. I have never had a flea problem and I have 2 dogs and 1 cat.

Be careful with borax I use to use it as a replacement to many toxic chem to only do some searching and find that it is also toxic and cause many health and fertility problems.Feed your animals and your self high doses of garlic. Treat your home with table salt.Vacuum any carpet really well apply table salt leave for a few hours and re vacuum throw out the vacuum bag do this several times for a few days and you have interrupted the flea life cycle. Once your pet gets on high doses of garlic the fleas will not be a problem. I have a dog, a cat and 3 guinea pigs and no fleas and no chemicals.Hope this helps stay wellKathy <vanokat Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2008 12:35:38 PMRe: Borax for fleas
