Guest guest
Along with your herbs, don't forget to use your vacuum cleaner on you upholstered furniture and floor frequently. Flea infestations are very hard to nip in the bud. I have found vacuuming every other day for about 2 weeks very helpful.Ann K.<^..^>--- On Fri, 9/5/08, Joyce <nativelegal wrote: Joyce <nativelegal Re: Vinegar of the Four Thieves Date: Friday, September 5, 2008, 8:04 PM Jane, you are always "right on"! I had not heard of this version. I'vemade extracts of the Thieve's Oil blend spices which presumably wasused to rub all over the grave robber's bodies to prevent the fleasetc. which spread the plague from attacking them. I chose the extractover oil to make as did not want to heat it OR go to the alcohol based. I might try DMSO this year to do the same. If I am remembering rightthe spices were thyme, cloves, rosemary, oregano, and ??? (Young's oilsite lists their 6 or 7 spices & I did a take-off on it.) I've usedit for insect repellant before heading to the garden and now on somefleas carried in to my little Dachsies from a neighboring householdthat had them in abundance. I've also changed off with using Diatomaceous Earth for a non-toxicway to kill them. If it wasn't for the fact that they're on thefurniture and bed with us, I'de oil them down good with garlic inthere too. But I'll stick with those remedies as its not too bad andthink that the every other day routine will take care of the littlevarmints, (HOPE!) The problem is magnified by our long-haired Ragdoll cat which isextremely sensitive to a lot of things and don't need her licking offtoxic powders or oils or soaking some of those other toxic things intothe skin. The diatomaceous earth and swabbings of the extract seem towork there ... not to completely eliminate YET but at least affordingrelief to where they seldom itch now. The doctors of thetime used the same herbs and essential oils to to protect themselveswhile tending so many who were contagious. They wore big cloaks overtheir heads that reached down well below their shoulders.
