A great many people believe that a fetus is not a human entity until it draws it's first breath upon leaving the womb and that an abortion simply destroys a potential 'vessel' and not a human being. Others believe a human being is created the moment sperm combines with egg. This has been a great debate for a long time and I'm not sure anyone really knows the truth about this, so judging another on this issue isn't wise. It blows my mind that the same people who would avoid

doctors/hospitals/medicine at all cost (like most people in this

group) would think that it's ok for a woman to inject poison into her

uterus and vacuum out the contents. That's hypocritical at best and

in my opinion just disgusting.

*I strongly agree with you but I also think that there is a place for abortion in our society but that place is not within in me. There are most certainly circumstances that it is the "right" choice, rape is just one of many. I personally would not have a child conceived with so much hate, this is one situation that I would elect the choice of abortion. Then again, I am not in the situation now, the experience can always have a bearing on the choices you may think you will make if that something happens, so really I do not even know if that would be the right choice for me even then. I am certain however, there is a place for abortion and it should be ava and legal everywhere for everyone to simply

have the right to make the choice. You are right, abortion is an opinion vs.. opinion topic.

However, if the government is going to pass laws about it, it has to be in a democratic manner. In a democracy there are certain issues that do not lend themselves to "either/or" laws - a compromise is the only way..

If the decision to abort a fetus becomes a "private issue", the abortion should not be funded by the government or an insurance plan.

If the person seeking the abortion is incompetent to pay, then the decision may be removed from the person and decided by some sort of a tribunal..

when roe v wade was passed, abortions were available for women in the event of rape or health risks, it was a private decision made between , the parents and the woman, and the doctor. when abortion was made legal, women had few choices for preventing pregnancy as well, that is not so today. also, we didn't have the medicines or technology to save pre-mature babies , we do today, we also didn't have the technology to see into the womb, we do today. the practice of abortion today, is profit. allowing underage girls to receive the service is dangerous as ,they may not understand the risks, psychological consequences or have knowledge of certain health issues that may increase their risks. women have many low cost, and in most cases free methods of birth control, and a wealth of

education to make responsible choices. abotion laws are also biased against fathers and that cannot be ignored. in my opinion, we should go back the days when a patient and doctor made the decision, based on medical or psychological reasons, return the practice of abortion to the medical field and remove it from, the civil rights movement. the practice of abortion for reasons ,other then medical or psychological reasons is an outdated barbaric form of birth control that is unecesisary in modern times. women need a real education on this issue, before any of us, can have an opinion on the topic. judging others is not the answer, knowledge is. andreaJ B

You are right, abortion is an opinion vs.. opinion topic.

However, if the government is going to pass laws about it, it has to be in a democratic manner. In a democracy there are certain issues that do not lend themselves to "either/or" laws - a compromise is the only way..

If the decision to abort a fetus becomes a "private issue", the abortion should not be funded by the government or an insurance plan.

If the person seeking the abortion is incompetent to pay, then the decision may be removed from the person and decided by some sort of a tribunal..
