OT: good grammar

Have to agree here - I was able to read Andrea's post even though I did not receive it in my inbox for some reason - I read someone else's reply. Andrea's message is way more important than her grammar. I have a 14yo who just managed to get himself put on probation and now has to do "their" anger management and counseling. He is questioned repeatedly -alone by his probation officer. Things that are NOT anyone's business too. We should all be very afraid.

You go Andrea! I completely, completely agree. Manners and compassion for what you were writing about. Shame, shame, shame on them.

gosh arent there more important things in life then wether i have the time to sit and spell check everything and make sure my grammer is correct. even if i was displeased with someones writing style i would hardly make such a fuss about it. in the modern era apparently "MANNERS" have fallen by the wayside as well.

I agree. Writing is supposed to be a concise and precise way to communicate our thoughts. But in the modern era of shotcuts and text messaging shorthand writing has become a sloppy way of communicating so that we can bemoan that people keep misunderstanding us. --- On Tue, 8/19/08, mommy2threelilboys <mommyon731 > wrote:

**I am not specifically saying this as an attack to Andrea's post, noram I saying it in response to the comment made.** However, what has happened to our grammar, specifically in ourwriting? People do not capitalize the first words of sentences, theydon't capitalize the word "I", they don't use punctuation, etc. Somepeople write in all caps. It really doesn't take that long to use thecorrect grammar principles. It makes it very difficult to read thingslike this when you've been reared speaking/writing a language and havebeen taught the proper rules. I'm certainly not an expert on thematter, but I do try to do my best. Once again, I'm not trying to attack anyone specifically. We all haveour quirks, right? I think I'm very guilty of being one of "those"who do not trim posts...I'm working on that. :-)
