WHAT ARE THE STATISTICS?

As reported in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), in

Canada, at least 23,000 people die every year from pharmaceutical

drug-related problems. These are only the reported deaths. Both the FDA

and Canadian experts believe the rate is much higher.

In Canada, a population of 30 million, there are over 14 million medical

emergency visits per year due to the adverse effects of prescription

drugs.

In the United States, there are over 700,000 deaths per year from adverse

effects from pharmaceutical products.

At any given time, 51% of the United States citizens, including children,

are taking a prescription drug.

China represents 20% of the World’s population, yet they consume only

1.5% of the prescription drugs.

In 2007 the Chinese Government publicly executed the head of its own Food

and Drug Association (Zheng Xiaoyu) after it was revealed that he had

approved untested medicines for the pharmaceutical industry in exchange

for over $800,000.00

Physician treatment and intervention is now listed as the number one

cause of death in North America, ahead of Cancer, heart attack, stroke,

and HIV.

Due to the constantly rising death toll, the CMAJ observed on January 4

and March 15, 2005 that Health Canada is not adequately monitoring the

safety of marketed drugs and has “demonstrated a structural inability to

do ongoing safety monitoring of new drugs and devices.”

This deaths and adverse events do NOT include vaccine injuries and

deaths.

In the United States, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) whistle-blowers

say concerns about drug safety are ignored. Congress has voted down

amendments that would make it harder for scientists who have accepted

money from a drug company to advise the FDA on drug approval

applications.

Drug company lobbyists on US Capitol Hill out number members of Congress

by two-to-one. According to the non-partisan Center for Public Integrity,

the drug industry has spent more money on lobbying than any other single

industry – $855 million from 1998 to 2006.

Commercials advise, “Ask your doctor if this vaccine is right for you.”

However, doctors are not trained on vaccine history nor are they aware of

problems with safety studies and the long list of potential adverse

events.

8000 adverse events have been reported for the new HPV (Human Papilloma

Virus) Vaccine for teen girls. There have been 16 deaths.

The incidence of autism increased by more than 1700% since 1991.

 

In a study of 103 children who died of SIDS, Dr. William Torch, of the

University Of Nevada School Of Medicine at Reno, found that more than

two-thirds had been vaccinated with DPT prior to death. Of these, 6.5

percent died within 12 hours of vaccination; 13 percent within 24 hours;

26 percent within three days; and 37, 61, and 70 percent within one, two,

and three weeks, respectively. He also found that SIDS frequencies have a

bimodal-peak occurrence at two and four months -- the same ages when

initial doses of DPT are administered to infant (Torch, 1982).

In an empirical study of SIDS, episodes of apnea (cessation of breathing)

and hypopnea (abnormally shallow breathing) were measured before and

after DPT vaccinations. " Cotwatch " (a precise breathing

monitor) was used, and the computer printouts it generated (in integrals

of the weighted apnea-hypopnea density -- WAHD) were analyzed. The data

clearly shows that vaccination caused an extraordinary increase in

episodes where breathing either nearly ceased or stopped completely

(Scheibner & Karlsson, 1991). These episodes continued for months

following vaccinations. Dr. Viera Scheibner, the author of the study,

concluded that " vaccination is the single most prevalent and most

preventable cause of infant deaths.
