Guest guest
The best is Just Like Sugar which is made from chicory and orange peel. Chicory has been used for 70 years to improve the health of diabetics. It can be gotten from Whole Foods or on line at www.justlikesugarinc.com It's not an artificial sweetener like saccharin which is a coal tar product. It's natural. Other two ingredients are Vitamin C and Calcium. Information on www.mpwhi.com as well at the top of the front page. Guest guest
I took a look at Just Like Sugar and I must confess I'm confused by the fact that the first ingredient listed is maltodextrin. Several years ago I found out that maltodextrin is 137 on the glycemic index while white sugar is 142. They do say theirs is made from chicory. I would imagine if you're diabetic you could tell from your testing how Just Like Sugar affects you. I'm a little concerned about the extra calcium but I noticed even after they list all the reasons for adding it, the product lists calcium at 0%. Oh, the wonders of the labelling laws. Guest guest
I have tried the Justlikesugar some time ago. It didn't do much for me. The price is prohibitive for me to even consider for use in a drink (tea/coffee), let alone cook with it. Might stick to my stevia.
